Jordan Donnelly just comments on Ryder’s swirly pic( sorry don’t know how to link) so seems like On is probably aware of what was said to Emma and that sponsorship is gonna be in limbo if New Gen doesn’t resolve this
I don't know what legitimate satisfaction he gets out of hanging out with fast runners when he is not their coach. I could definitely be wrong but in old days this would have given off stranger danger whistle. But who knows now days with young kids being very open and ultra progressive.
I'm pretty sure that Crawford is currently dating a female professional runner. I'm not going to drag her name into this, but if the relationship progresses I'm sure we'll see a hard launch from them eventually.
I find it bizarre that Emma Gee tried to get herself involved in creating a bunch of drama and then being the victim. The teens who did the photoshoot obviously see it differently than her, so maybe she should mind her own business and focus on her career.
That being said, the comments sent by the unknown anonymous instagram account were disgusting and she did not deserve that garbage to be said to her.
Also bizarre - the cancel culture keyboard warriors trying to harass the photographer and tag a bunch of brands. What are you people doing ? Close the apps and go outside and train.
Considering one of the highlights of attending the camp as listed on the photographer last personal insta post is "bullying hattie" followed by "loved every minute of it"....big yikes. Joking or not, this is not the flex these kids think it is. A lot of immaturity and ignorance going on here. And sadly trying to get this group to understand how poor of a message this is conveying will probably be futile, especially given the responses from the camp attendees on this thread. My hope is that at least some of them will prove this wrong and recognize the message being sent to their young and impressionable audience. Also - as everyone else has said - Emma's critique was very mild and thoughtful. If these kids, and the adults (cringe) associated with NG, cannot accept that without harassment and bullying and hatefulness in return, they are going to be in for a lot of disappointment in the real world. Of course a lot of these kids and the NG attitudes come off as people who have been handed everything their entire lives, so maybe not.
Tagging the brands got the attention of the head guy of one of the camp’s sponsors…….seems like he is not impressed with the explanation given……. anything you put on the internet is forever and has consequences
i am 4 pages in and still don't have a link to anything. can someone post one?
The photos are still up on Ryder's account and have since been linked. However, most of the comments that people thought were immature/rude/cruel/unprofessional have been deleted. There was initially lots of comments on the post in which the New Gen account shared the photos, but New Gen deleted the comments, and finally the post altogether.
The comments from campers were mocking Emma for finding the photoshoot concerning. Some were implying she was dumb for not being able to understand their creative vision (when we have a camper in the comments here saying that there was no vision/creative concept/message/meaning at all). There was also a burner account that almost certainly belongs to the photographer, Ryder Lee, saying things like "it's okay to be jealous, not everyone can attract the male gaze, just usually they don't turn gay because of that" and "prob not as disappointed as your parents are cuz you turned out gay." The burner account in itself is also pretty racist (it has been scrubbed a bit since people started pointing out that it must belong to Ryder).

30 second on either of their social medias will reveal who it is. You're not really hiding anything by not saying their name here.
It is apparent Ben Crawford and Krissy Gear have been "seeing each other" lately.

There's like a 99% certainty that the "unknown anonymous instagram account" IS the photographer, though. He's since unfollowed, but yesterday morning Ryder was the only person following that troll account, and he was one of only two people that it followed. That's the most concerning part of this to me, especially because Ryder works with other brands and athletes in the running industry. That kind of nastiness is worth questioning, and I don't think it's cancel culture or whatever if he's getting in some hot water for his actions.
Yeah, I'm on Emma's side on this one. It's not like she tore into the kids; she called the shoot "disappointing." They could have just replied to her reasonably explaining how they intended the photos to go over or what they meant to communicate with the shoot. Instead, they thought her concern was funny and started attacking her personally. I understand that 17/18 year olds are still learning and their brains are still developing, but they're not so young that we shouldn't expect some degree of maturity out of them. If anything, this would at least be a good opportunity for Ben & crew to teach the teens how to deal with PR issues professionally, but as of now it doesn't look like they're taking advantage of the opportunity.
The worst part of it, to me, is that Ryder Lee seems to be the person behind the burner account that was leaving the worst comments. He's the creator who did the promotional photography for Coffee Club's new merch. I like Coffee Club, but I'm really not interested in supporting any brands or athletes who partner with Ryder in the future. 17 is old enough to understand that ugly, personal attacks of the type he was posting are not okay.
What sucks is he still got 400-500 likes per vid and validation/kudos from people. HORRIBLE photos. There are people out there who do much better photography that don't have that reach...
I have a feeling we’re going to hear a bunch of sexual assault allegations from these camps years down the road.
Those guys just seem like the type who love finally getting to be the cool guys around 17 year old girls even though they’re 25.
This, exactly. I personally know most of the New Gen guys, and even was hanging out with them when they first created the camp. Year one was pretty awesome, the kids were chosen based purely on their ability and desire to bring some cool content and fresh perspectives to the sport. The camp was run fairly professionally, and they learned a lot.
Now, years down the road, it’s completely changed. They hand-pick top high schoolers based more on running ability and clout, most of whom have formed strangely personal relationships with these guys in their mid 20s. The camp is basically a glorified week-long party unsupervised by anyone, and it’s all pretty unstructured. It’s pretty creepy, you get the feeling there may be alcohol involved as well. Who knows what could be happening there.
They definitely think they’re the “cool kids” of the sport, as if they’re somehow different from anyone else. I don’t associate with them at all anymore, they’re just very immature and cocky. And honestly I do know Ben has some pretty ignorant views that just aren’t fun to be around. Not the type of guy I feel good about influencing impressionable kids. Just thinks he can say gross things and pass them off as jokes.

I'm happy you got ratio'ed for this. Calling out something in your sphere that you think is unacceptable doesn't have to equal "creating a bunch of drama and then being the victim." That would only be if what she was calling out was harmless or easily explained with further context. But I think only 10% of people on here were like yeah this image of a girl shoved in a locker and getting a swirly is totally cool and we want to see. So no she shouldn't "shut up and dribble" on this one, if she feels it's a negative message they're putting out. There's obviously a line here, but I have no reason to believe this is about performative outrage from the runner here.
I agree that the pictures were in bad taste. On the other hand, some of the posts on this thread are so over the top with disgusting accusations and comments. Get a sense of humor or a girlfriend, because I can guarantee none of you posting have one.
