I didn't say anything mean. I just pointed out that using random quotes from the internet to insert depth into a conversation - not just sometimes but alllll the time on this podcast - is a major detraction. That's not mean.

I think you're missing the point. Yes, a 'real job' is more stressful than being a runner (although that's debatable because most real jobs pay more and have better job security). But anyway, the point is that if she can't handle the pressure of college running, no chance she'll be able to handle the pressure of being a pro runner.

Florida's a decent college but it's not an ivy - even Brown or Cornell.

such a giant chasm between 20 year old healthy girl with a nerve issue and those of us over 50...or even 40 (sciatica, djd, stenosis, on and on...). There should be an identifiable reason for her "nerve" issue. That bugs me that they dont know. Or maybe they do, but she doesnt want to submit to surgery til after season? ? Could be lot of scenarios. But if she is still in "they dont know" phase...yikes. Get to da choppa! Go East or North or West.

On a side bar, I know folks have a right to PHI protection and you dont have to discuss it. But in her case? What does she have to lose getting her condition out there? Someone sees it, maybe knows someone who can help her or specializes in that area? Why so much talking around the issue.

This could be true. I did software engineering internships all four years (three for a large tech company) and made from 35-50+ dollars an hour. That plus getting full ride athletic + academic scholarship led me to graduate with 40k+ in the bank. So you can do this, tech internships are lucrative. Fintech internships & finance ever more so (if you work for something like Jane street think making 10-12k a month for an internship)
