I was thinking about this the other night and I think super shoes/spikes are a large part of it. Obviously the Vaporfly/Alphafly were instrumental with rewriting the marathon history books. But I think being able to practice at a faster pace with a lower effort will eventually translate to faster non super shoe times. It lets runners get more comfortable at a new race pace so it isn't as difficult to maintain later on
I watched a bit the women discus throw in Olso for the first time since years ago. My god ! They are awfully masculine. More than male sprinters. Big adam's apple. Not different from east germany athletes.
change your TV or your brain set as the difference is huge. And 10 Mts behind the WR.
But I repeat that testing has moved on hugely and I ask how would you get round testing today, not 10, 15, 20 or 25 years ago.
I am sensing that that is a rhetorical question.
Do you know what rhetorical means.
The thread is about drugs and the current high performances ; thus we do need info as to such as the dozens of undetectable steroids that are out there. Or some recognition as to what AIU are doing about whereabouts rules.
Liar soorer and Jon O with their 5000th handle are trying to take over again. Now we just need number 3, reckie, to completely ruin this thread.
And what is your contribution other than repeating the obvious in your 20,000 posts .
Lol. See page 1. But, that wasn't a repetition, and apparently not obvious, and I haven't made 20,000 posts. You keep trying though, sooner or later you might get something right.

Technology doesn't beat doping. That almost inevitably doped records are being beaten is because of doping. It remains further ahead of testing than any time since the '90's.
Do you have the remotest evidence that doping is ahead of testing other than your assumption that all top performances are drug based?
Yes. David Howman says so. Also, only 1% of tests are positive but estimates from confidential athlete surveys indicate doping could be at around 50% or more at championship level. Masking has been the norm for doping since the Marion Jones era. It isn't a science that stands still. Doping has been estimated by experts to be a billion dollar black market. There is of course more - much more - but there's a start.
have you been paying attention? the shoe technology has risen at an exponential rate. i forgot who said it, but a pro runner talked about how track spikes have been mostly the same for 2 decades or so but then suddenly with the carbon plated shoes, people have suddenly started running faster.
Check horse racing, seriously, I've noticed all the new drugs seem to come out horse racing where the owners don't mind killing their million dollar toys.
Alternately it's not just super-shoes but super-tracks which boost everybody so it becomes obvious when a dozen people are racing faster than the previous recordholders.

So what new drugs do you refer to?
Come on name them; you say you have noticed them so that should be easy.

Quote Howman source please.
Name one masking agent other than diuretics?
Diuretics are easily testable.
Who says doping is a billion dollar black market and did that relate to sports use?
You know you lie on each of the above but you just can’t stop yourself.

This is not Armstrong nor Jones time.
Still not any evidence of the dozens of undetectable steroids out there.
