The thing I find strange about it all is that it's just so obvious, but we're all supposed to pretend we don't notice the donkey running with the thoroughbreds?
This is just bat sh..t crazy, this World is circling the drain. I have no problem with this boy saying he is now a girl, that is not the issue. You just can't compete in sports as a girl, it is a slap in the face to these real girls who have trained hard for a long time to have to compete against a boy.....C'Mon Man sports are off limits to man to woman trans...you NEVER see a woman to man trans competing with the men!!!!!!
There are 13 girls in California with faster 1600m times than the subject of this thread. Should they end their seasons to appease your outrage? Why did they even bother training this year?

I agree that the language sucks and much of this has delved into transphobia. I also think that we've spent a lot of time focusing on how to be polite and respectful that we've let women get trampled over in the process.
The look on the 4th place runner's face on the awards stand says it all. She's not going to state this year, and the sentiment is wildly unfair.
I cannot imagine as a trans woman thinking this is fair at any age. If I were a trans girl, and say I came out senior year--I spent the last three years running 17:30 5Ks, and 4:45 miles, 4th or 5th on my boy's team, solidly average, and then suddenly I'm on the starting line at Footlocker Nationals competing for a title? I couldn't do it. I couldn't look my female teammates in the eye, the one that was 7th on the team who got bumped to 8th and has to watch her team compete at state from the sidelines, the one who was 1st bumped to second on the team, not receive MVP honors, or the accolades she deserves and get bumped down, let alone competitors...how do trans athletes convince themselves this is fair?
There is a way to do this without being dehumanizing. Without saying weirdo and freak and all this. But can we say selfish? Can we say self aggrandizing? Can we say narcissistic? Can we say arrogant? Can we say condescending? Can we say mysoginistic? Can we say manipulative?

The view that having "gender dysphoria" is necessary "to be trans" is not only inaccurate, it's now widely considered "transphobic."
Today, expecting people to have "gender dysphoria" - or any other kind of distress - as a prerequisite to adopting a trans gender identity is regarded as old-fashioned and oppressive "gatekeeping."
The widely accepted view amongst trans advocates today is that anyone should be able to adopt a trans gender identity - and gain access to the sports, spaces and services of the sex of their choosing - for whatever reason, and for no reason at all. As the saying goes, "Trans people don't owe anyone any explanations!"
Moreover, the most widespread view today in the gender identity movement and amongst those who provide so-called "gender affirming care" is that once a person announces they are trans, they should have unfettered access on demand to all the medical interventions they desire - such as "puberty blockers," testosterone suppressants, cross-sex hormones and an array of plastic surgeries and cosmetic procedures - so that they can reach their "embodiment goals" and attain their "ideal morphology."
The view in vogue amongst providers, consumers and adovocates of "gender affirming care" is that the costs of all these interventions - as well as revisions and reversals of them - should be paid for without question by private health insurance, public healtsh insurance like Medicaid and Medicare, and/or government health systems like the UK's NHS.
Also, for the record: lots of people who previously had, and currently have, "gender dysphoria" do not identify as "trans" and never did.
Suggesting that everyone with "gender dysphoria" is trans is offensive to the great many people with "gender dysphoria" who have chosen or found other ways to deal with the distress, unease and unhappiness they experience.
Except for this predictable verbal urinaria, I didn’t see anyone else suggest that “everyone with ‘gender dysphoria’” is trans”. Discombobulated logic is an excuse to spew out more words, I suppose.

This cohort study investigates whether gender-affirming care is associated with decreased depression, anxiety, and suicidality among transgender and nonbinary youths.
During the study period, appearance congruence, positive affect, and life satisfaction increased, and depression and anxiety symptoms decreased. So let’s see, FINA and WA now requires trans girls to do what the Swedish national health board recommends against in order to ever have a shot at competitive sport they regulate. Should Swedish trans girls sue those sport governing bodies for implicitly incentivizing unsafe medical practices?

This study consists of sending mental health questionnaires to these youths over a period of 12 months.
So it is not in any way concerned with any physical health aspects or any sort of long-term consequences. Only the self-reported mental state of the victims during the first year of back-patting stunning-and-bravery.
