No way to know for sure, but he does not fit the profile of a doper in my view. He was one of the best juniors in the world, and he steadily improved after running 3:33 at age 19.
While sudden performance improvement can be indicative of PED, that doesn't mean every PED user has to fit that profile. Do we believe no one ever used PEDs at the beginning of their career? It would seem that athletes in systematic doping programs would be using them early.
3:33 at age 19 is impressive, but in now way indicates 3:26.00 or having 7 of the 9 fastest performances. Jim Ryun ran 3:33.1, shortly after his 20th birthday.

It would be pretty easy with AI to pretty much determine with certainity who was and who wasn't using hgh based on changes in their facial structure over their careers (from photos). WADA should be doing this already. There is probably a developer on this forum who could do it.
What has being poor got to do with it? Growing up being poor is though a greater incentive to dope.

It is really just a big joke now to anyone with any brains in their head. Like do you believe the government? Do you think anything involving money and social mobility is going to not involve lying and cheating? When you have nothing you will justify about anything to get something. I just enjoy sport for what it is. The giro d'italia was great today and for 3 weeks I will watch 176 doped athletes ride like the wind. Enjoy every minute of the competition -it is what it is.

If he was on drugs, we will never know how must slower he would run if he was clean.
If he was clean, how fast could he have run with drugs?
In any case, he has run the fastest 1500 and mile of all athletes, BOTH clean and doped. That itself is an indication, but of course no evidence. But for a clean athlete to beat all cheaters of course takes extraordinary talent AND training.
