Why are people downvoting Rojo on this thread? This is the most entertained I have been on LRC since the DIII girls thread. A grown man is locked out of his own garage and is asking a running forum for help. I may pay for Supporters Club if Rojo posts more content like this.
I left out a few pieces of info in the first post that made me look bad.
Ther previous owner game me one garage door opener. He also told me the code which seemed a bit finicky the one time I tried it. I then tried to reset it to a code that I like. But that never worked. At some point, I also pushed the button on the garge inside where you reset the remote. I'm not sure why I did that but I think that clearly disabled the old frequency so now even if I put in the right #, it's not going to work.
The clip on the garage door opener didn't work - the thing to attach it to the visor - and I don't know there the garage door opener is. I think I musts have for some reason carried into the house or maybe it slid into a box. Can't find it.
I have purchased a new remote and keypad. I just need to get in.
Thanks for the update. Keep us informed about how this situation ends.

This thread is the LR cofounder version of taking office stationary for home use.

I was hoping to learn that something interesting was behind the locked doors.
Someone I know did all the home inspections and walk through before the closing. The next morning they found the previous owner dumped an entire UHaul of junk back into the house. Not much hope for an entertaining find behind the locked door if rojo is the one who reset the code.

Oh, maybe ask the previous owner to check the key pocket of their running shorts!

wtf is this post?
(1) "i'm alive" why wouldn't you be?
(2) "I left out a few pieces of info in the first post that made me look bad." this is very poorly written
(3) "Ther previous owner game me one garage door opener." multiple typos
(4) "He also told me the code which seemed a bit finicky the one time I tried it" i have no idea what this means
(5) "I then tried to reset it to a code that I like. But that never worked" what?
(6) "At some point, I also pushed the button on the garge inside where you reset the remote. I'm not sure why I did that but I think that clearly disabled the old frequency so now even if I put in the right #, it's not going to work" are you okay?
(7) "and I don't know there the garage door opener is" what?
(8) "I think I musts have for some reason carried into the house or maybe it slid into a box. Can't find it." more typos
(9) "I have purchased a new remote and keypad. I just need to get in." so the new remote and keypad will or will not help you get in?
(10) do you know english?
They are only typos if the person knows how to spell the words, which rojo never ever does. He isn't widely known as the village idiot for no reason.
Have you tried just lifting the garage door? Does it have a handle at the bottom? I am pretty sure most garage doors can be opened and closed manually.
I love this thread. It has almost everything that makes LetsRun great. People doing dumb things. People lacking reading comprehension and offering solutions that don't fit. Trolls. Funny remarks. And the LetsRun rule of thumb I've noticed in most every thread. If you're willing to wade through the trolls, off-topic responses, and flat out bad advice, then in one out of every 20 posts or so, you'll get some great advice. ...not that I'm going to break this rule and offer anything useful here.
