At out house my kids little swingset doesn't have a traditional pull up bar. It's got wood beams on the top holding the swings. Probably 4-5 inches in width.
So I used that. No ideal. Did 5 pulldowns. Then hung once. Did some push ups after that and 1 arm rows. Goal is not to be too sore for soccer on Sunday ;)
Yes, absolutely do weighted. I'm a runner and my Bmi is rather slight, you won't get big and no one is talking about doing crazy heavy weights for mass building. They can be integrated in or on separate days. It helped me get to 50 strict bodyweight. Comment from Armstrong program: For what it’s worth, I used a weighted beginner program to progress past 21 pullups. I bought a dip belt and a 45lb plate and did exactly the same routine as the beginner armstrong workout, but weighted, and I quickly broke out of my plateau.
Weighted is dumb.
We're talking outdoor calisthenics, not some foo foo gym where you stroke yourself in the mirror between sets.
The genius of calis is you can do them almost anywhere, anytime, esp. if you live in a city or town with a semi-enlightened parks dept.
Oh, but I don't have my chains, or my weight vest, or my "plates"... gtfoh and just get on the bars.

Australian pullups are a good start. Find a bar that's relatively low to ground, get underneath, and with your feet still touching the ground pull yourself up. It's basically a bodyweight row, but Australian pullup sounds way cooler, cause you're down under the bar.
I think they are also called "supine pullups." I do them in addition to standard pull-ups and chin-ups.
