This was pretty stupid.
With that said, I believe the reason SpaceX succeeded and Blue didn't is because Elon *had* to make SpaceX succeed or he'd have gone broke. He sunk so much money into it, he was all in, and he had to either make it work or be in a really bad place.
He's not nearly as deep in in Twitter. He's a lot richer now. He's probably gotten softer. But having sunk so much money into it may motivate him to make it work.
The problem is that he's got other obligations. If it wasn't for X and Tesla, I do believe he'd probably move into the Twitter offices, eat sleep and breathe Twitter for the next few years, and turn it into an incredible product, making the people who were willing to stick with him rich. But he can't do that because he's got two other major companies to run. And it'll be tough or impossible to make Twitter succeed with a part-time focus.
