Beautiful spot, hills, trails, dirt roads, etc. Not sure if it is the best, but has to be solid. And great XC skiing for the winter.
I think Vancouver is a great place to train, in my opinion the best in Canada. It has the two largest parks in urban settings in Canada. The UBC Endowment Lands followed by Stanley Park. There are some good training groups in different areas of the city. It has solid weather, definitely you can train as well in the winter as you can in the summer only it is much less pleasant in the rain. Victoria is also great but I can't say too much about it since I haven't trained there full time. I also think Vancouver has nicer and more accessible trails than Victoria, just opinion though.
All I can say is that whoever said 'all of bc' is good for training has never been to Prince George!
how do you know about little current? SOUTH BAYMOUTH BABY!!
Oasis,
Ya, it indicates and includes Camas Circle, Circle Drive, Dallas Road and a little bit of Douglas Street.
If you back the zoom out, so the names disappear, you can see the oval clearly. - Most people start on the north side, run west - stick to the curb, tight. Follow it, you hit Dallas, which is actually a main drag that runs North and south through the centre of the city...as you follow the curb the Road becomes Dallas, for a few hundred metres...then Cricle Drive again. YOU cross no intersections, staying left on the curb!!!!!!!!!
It used to be a horse track, accuratley measured 1 mile. Hundred years ago. I like it because unlike the 400m rubber track it is more realistic with small rolling up and down and one lap instead of four make it more road racing like.
There used to be a certified Sri Chimnoy 10 mile race on there.
Yes Vancouver is great. Endowment Lands, Stanley Park etc . The waterfront.
I will say though Victoria has so many trails, you can't possibly know them all. Victoria downtown and out to other Municipalites have commuter trails for cycling, walking and running only, no motorized traffic. So in downtown might have less than Vancouver, but just out a bit, in the burbs...you can be lost on the trails....

Anyone been to New Brunswick?
The small (but rich) province of Saskatchewan has produced many great runners for their small (under 1 million) population.
Harry Jerome, Simon Bairu, Kendra Shaaf, Gordie Howe (whoops wrong sport)
Cambridge Onatario. Run with George Aitkin. In lieu of this town, run in Brantford or Burlington. Even better yet, run in Ann Arbor or Fayetteville, but only if you want to be a fast 1500m guy....
