Did they not teach you the difference between "effect" and affect" in doctor school?
I don’t know what you’re getting at. Affect is the correct usage. You do not effect change, you affect change. The former would mean the change is the result of an already completed action. The latter means you want to affect change in the future with actions today. He is clearly talking about affecting change for the future.
All you did was prove you are an ignorant dingleberry who probably never went to college, or aspired to be a doctor and flunked so you have this pent up envy to try to outsmart doctors. But you failed, again.
Hate to break it to you, but “effect” is the proper word in this instance. Not “affect”.
Grade inflation is everywhere. Read what Harvard professors were writing 30 years ago (when Harvard was 85%+ white) about the pressure placed upon them to inflate the grades of their (almost all white) students.
I wouldn't presume that anybody in America is qualified to do anything just because they have a degree or certification. This is a land of slackers, weed smokers, pants saggers, idiots who read headlines instead of whole articles, saltines who think they're smarter than they are, and other assorted nitwits.
and youre so much smarter than them aren't yah? speaking of merit, seems odd you take the position you do on this issue given what you just said unless thats just another way to make yourself feel better than others
1.) African Americans need more support in early life to achieve at the same level, ie school funding, more stable homes, more policing to prevent violence, more well paying jobs for their parents - they clearly need this
2.) if, with all that they still cant hack it, we have to face something no one want to face.
lets give them every opportunity to earn success with option 1.) and then see what happens. no one should get free handouts cause thats guessing, we dont know what would have happened if they had the same opportunities as there more well to do peers. a great option would be really well funded community colleges in inner cities where they can prove themselves
If you are my doctor, I don’t care how you became proficient. I just care that you are very good at what you do. If you want to ease undergraduate admissions, fine. Don’t extend that to medical school and MCAT.
If you don't care about how your doctor became proficient why are you concerned about MCAT? You should be looking at what they left medical school with, not how they were doing before they started.
Exactly. If you asked 100 physicians "if you could know anything at all about a doctor before allowing them to care for yourself or your family, what would you want to know?," MCAT score would be mentioned zero times. A test you take before medical school is not a measure of medical proficiency.
Worrying about a practicing physician's MCAT score makes about as much sense as worrying about a post-collegiate marathoner's middle school 800m PR. Might be a measure of potential to some extent, but by the time you're ready to make a career of it you've either proven yourself or failed to prove yourself at so many other levels that it's no longer relevant.
They are probably reacting your assertion that "none" of the posts on LRC are racist, which is obviously absurd.
Maybe, but I was obviously referring to this thread, and that none of the posts I've seen are racist. If they were, YOU would have pointed them out by now, because YOU are the guy who alleges a thread is "race baiting" merely because it raises affirmative action or racial equity issues that are in the news literally every day.
Why do you keep posting under different names? Trying to make it look like your veiwpoint is more relevant?

We HAVE to treat everyone the same...We can't have different rules or standards for different groups, that is unethical AND unworkable...
I became a doctor before standards were lowered. Who wants a doctor that is below standards and is only a doctor because of their skin color... Now I get painted with the same brush and am also seen as sub-standard. This is not the way to affect change.
My BIL has an architectural firm. They can't get public work because they don't have the anti-racism model in place. They are going to have to help less qualified people buy out one or two of the partners, and they better do it soon. The obvious weaknesses in supply and demand equations, not the actual color of anyone's skin means declining quality. A junior college drafting student, man, or woman becomes a partner in the firm for $10. The other partners all have to pay out of pocket to get that person the selling partners will have to share the hit. They can't even sell the formerly prestigious firm because the buyers don't know what to do about it either.
Affirmative action is a poison for the whole society, it degrades everything it touches by lowering standards AND pissing people off. Our society is commiting suicide because of the guilt ridden wokes...

right...if only more people were racist like you , things would be all better!

it's almost like they should have hired and promoted some qualified non-whites years ago....
right...if only more people were racist like you , things would be all better!
why do you scream racist at everything that makes you uncomfortable?
uhhh what?
The only person I'm calling racist here is the guy who has previously said that slavey 'wasn't that bad' and that it's ok to call flag kneelers N-----s.
Speaking of kneeling, Brittney G deserves to do her time if for nothing else but clucking stupidity. Does that make me a racist? I read she wants to attend UPenn Med once released. 420 MCAT and 1.9 GPA.

Probably.
I don't normally see people going out of their way to cheer on the long-term imprisonment or Americans by foreign dictators for minor crimes.
I mean people seem positively obsessed with her now. MCAT scores? good gawd....
Um...you mean the suburban peers who have $100 an hour tutors to help them prep for standardized tests and to tutor them in all their subjects and to help them navigate the admissions process? And you do know that a large number of elite universities were tests optional the last few years, right?

they are doing this stuff up in Canada also--they fiddle with the admission criteria to make it look like they aren't setting quotas; just happy that I applied 26 years ago for Med--I probably wouldn't have gotten in now...
We all know when traveling and competing overseas that the laws and customs of other countries are to be respected. The length of sentence and definition of crime isn’t based on the US definition. For example, it’s not ok in NY to murder your US citizen daughters for dating an infidels.
I was asking if you considered me (as many do) racist for not feeling sorry for Brittney especially since initially the trade for her would set free a terrorist responsible for the slaughter of Americans.
