Did Ryan Hall at any time admit to taking steroids? I’m just asking because I never saw that mentioned. In addition we all know that he’s a God-fearing evangelical Christian with his wife and so taking steroids would be bizarre for someone in that position, or am I thinking naïvely? With regard to his legs they look good but it is true that they do not really look very proportional to his overall body size because looking at his legs they look to be about the same size as his arms which is unusual.
You are beyond naive if you think God fearing evangelicals wouldn't do steroids . Time and time again we here so-so wouldn't do drugs because of x and it turns out nope those people do drugs.
I have no clue if Hall is doping but I can assure you plenty of christians dope.
incredible body transformation. Never seen this type of development in a former skinny distance runner. Can you imagine guys like Frank Shorter or Bill Rogers transforming themselves in this way?
Ryan's transformation is outstanding but definitely achievable naturally over the course of the 6-7 years he has been weight training. I myself used to be a skinny runner and went through a similar transformation from 155lbs to 185lbs within a couple of years. For elite runners who weigh so little their body is on the extreme lower edge of how little they can weigh and still perform optimally. In this type of situation if you suddenly switch to a high calorie surplus along with heavy weight lifting the growth response from your body is typically massive.
I'm more confused with how he squares his christianity with his blatant vanity. "Look at my bodyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" is a super weird look, even without the moral paradox.

155 to 185 is not what Hall achieved. More like 135 to 190-200.

TRT's purpose is to treat a medical condition (Low T), which Ryan struggled with for many years while competing in running, while illegal steroid abuse is not a medical treatment at all.
Low T is the new over-diagnosed condition for middle aged males.
He probably has very high normal T levels now if not over normal. In his 30s, not peak T age, he was an athlete genetically geared to NOT gain size or strength...then got on TRT and whatever else and we see the results.

Everything you're saying is an opinion filled with biased assumptions based on what you want to believe. I was a genetically skinny guy too. As I mentioned I went from 150lbs to 185lbs within 2 years. I actually peaked out at 195lbs but dropped it down to 185lbs which felt a more comfortable weight/size for me. Ryan has been retired from competitive running and purely focused and dedicated to strength training and his diet for nearly 7 years, 3 times longer than it was for me. The extra weight gain he has achieved is completely achievable naturally. If you've done it you know.

Natural ectomorphs don't become Schwarzenegger on exercise and diet alone.

Correct. It also requires sleep.
Also, Hall is no Schwarzenegger.
My “resting” weight is probably 165-167–that is, no weights, and no endurance exercise.
When I was that weight, back in HS, I could easily have shed 25 lbs had I just eaten less. Was doing a mix of distance and other sports. That would land me about 140, say in “elite” distance form.
The heaviest I ever got was 195, I was huge but not super-lean. Was big and very lean around 188. I actually had a gut, of muscle!😮
That’s a difference of 48-55 lbs, representing a huge percentage—and I was never focused on bodybuilding-type stuff, just Olympic lifts and powerlifting lifts. Prob could have hit 200 lbs very lean.
All clean. My good friend of the day was even more extreme, far more. It can be done, but requires dedication—and you will never achieve the cut-ness of a drug-fueled bodybuilder.
I have thinned out on purpose, now around 177-179 and lean. When I do weights I regularly drink about 1.5l of water, and get that “pumped” look. LOL ! Maybe all his promo shots are when he is pumped -up.

Well said. Yes Ryan is no Arnold, they are light years apart. Arnold weighed in around 235-240lbs at his peak competition weight. In today's day and age elite bodybuilders in the open division typically weigh in at around 270-300lbs and yes it's no secret that they're juiced to the gills. It's part of the sport. To bulk up to around 195lbs however as Ryan has done over the course of nearly 7 years is achievable naturally. For Ryan to put on another 20-30lbs+ on top of this however, yes that would most likely require some synthetic help!
For someone around 10-12% bodyfat which I would estimate Ryan is, 2-3 days of water manipulation (gradually dropping your water intake to almost zero) will give you the appearance of being extra cut as nearly all of the water under your skin has been removed. Not exactly healthy but often done for photo shoots etc. I would expect Ryan has used this type of technique for some of the social media/magazine cover shots he's appeared in.

So why wouldn't he use drugs like everyone else in body building does, when it's easier, faster - and legal?

The same reasons I never have and countless other people who have put in the hard work haven't. For me personally I would never want to put that kind of crap into my body which yes might give you short term quick results but longer term can have all sorts of negative effects on the body. I would much prefer to make all my gains naturally and remain healthy long term.

You have just condemned an entire sport - if that's what you would call bodybuilding (and not to mention pro wrestling).

Lol I haven't condemned anyone or any sport. What people choose to put into their body is entirely up to them. I choose to stay natural out of personal choice. If elite bodybuilders/wrestlers want to go down the unnatural path that's up to them.

What you choose to do doesn't apply to anyone else, including the subject of the thread - who has been described here as the Incredible Hulk.
