We had a few gay dudes on our team ha. It wasn’t a big deal. One guy offered to give me dome but I said “nah man I’m not down but u do you” and we were friends after that. Just don’t be a homophobe its not cool
Of course, I went to a school where literally half the student body was LGBT of some sort.
School? I've just never heard of anything like that.
Not going to say which school, but it's a small liberal arts college that's one of the first schools you think of when it comes to the leftist campus stereotype
For the closeted or conflicted team mates it probably does change things. It probably makes them feel uncomfortable and they may be come anxious and post online about it.
For the alpha men who are confident in themselves they don’t care and move on. No biggie.
I had a gay teammate back in the 80's and he was about as open as anyone was about such things back then.
If anything we were a bit defensive of him when others in school would say something. You run with people, you get to know them and the "threat" of it all fades away. So for me, not a big deal.
You sir, sound like a fine teammate. Yours is the perfect answer. Team above all else
I hate to bust your bubble, but every locker room you've been in almost certainly had someone gay in there. They were probably just as awkward as you were.

There is no bubble to burst BUT of course you are incorrect. The only way you are correct is if I am gay and I am not. I have been in a lot of locker rooms and I am sure many had someone who was gay in there and some certainly did not.

You keep telling yourself that. 😂 My point is that the world is full of gay people, many of whom you would never know are gay. I have little patience for these topics that try to underhandedly demean homosexuality.

Who is trying to demean homosexuality? Certainly not I. There are a few posters here who do, but they are often outed for being ignorant bigots. Of course the world has many gay people. Like we know this.
If the locker room culture is not inclusive and acceptant of diversity, then a shift in culture is needed. The locker room should also be a safe place for everyone, free of sexual harassment.

Only the gay guys sexuality matters while with everyone else their sexuality is a total non factor. But we need to pick out that gay guy......why?
Both in high school and in college I have had gay guys on my team. In high school it wasn’t a problem at all. Everyone was accepting, as they should be. It helped the locker room atmosphere by causing everyone to be more respectful. College, however, was a different story. We had exactly two out gay Guys. They would always shower next to each other and their lockers were next to each other too. They would do these little ass slaps and rub on each other. It was super uncomfortable for everyone else. A few times one of them became erect. Then suddenly, halfway through my junior year, they quit using the locker room entirely. I think someone complained to the coach and they handled it, but nothing ever came to light.
Let us be real here. Everyone should accept others and their sexuality for sure. But does having a male who is attracted to other males, for example, change the locker room scene at all? Please treat this subject with respect.
Would it change if you had females in the locker room?

If there were females in the locker room, with males, then I guess it would be more like a temporary nude beach. I think it would be exciting for a few days and then it might gradually just become routine. Would there be attractions, erections, admirations and aggravations? No doubt. Not sure it is a good idea. With the gays in the locker room, it makes more sense for the gay man to be with the other men than to be showering with the women, mainly because he is a man.
Let us continue to reach out in godly love to all homosexuals who want deliverance, while opposing at the threshold every attempt of the militant homosexuals to represent their lifestyle as 'normal,' and to impose it on us and our children. Anita Bryant

I don’t think locker room dynamics would really change with a gay teammate whatsoever. I’d bet any team that thinks everyone is straight likely has one or two gay teammates, and if the dynamic is healthy and respectful before they’re “out”, then nothing really changes when they come out except for the fact that now everyone is aware of their sexuality.
It’s also worth adding that just because they're gay, doesn’t mean that they’re automatically attracted to you.

interesting that you assumed LetsRun is a safe space to come out.
