Originally he said it was a calf injury. Then he found out it was "deep vein thrombosis in the right calf, an issue completely unrelated to running or training of any other kind."
An earlier thread on this was deleted, possibly because people were distracted by the political views of the radio host who reported the story, but I believe the story itself warrants a thread.
Anyone here ever have DVT? Anyone know any potential causes?
I had a DVT and PE in both lungs a few years ago. No known risk factors. I’ve been an athlete my whole life. No steroids, no COVID or vaccine at that time. No EPO. Sometimes, I’m told, things just happen. I took a blood thinner for a few months, and I’ve had no recurrent since.
Same. DVT both legs. Long before Covid. Life long runner. I have high clotting factors, but didn’t have any problems until late 20s. Sometimes things just happen. Unfortunately there are a couple posters here who feel the need to blame everything on the vax.

I had a DVT in my calf as well in 2021. Sharp pain, then turned purple and swollen. Ultrasound confirmed it, blood thinners, etc etc.
Most of my doctors felt it was not related to COVID. Def wasnt vax related tho
