What would Usain Bolt run if he used steroids?

Full discloser: I'm huge Usain fan. I've met him twice and he was incredibly friendly and gracious with his time. He even played a quick game of tag with my daughter (he let her win). He did incredible things for the sport of track and field and his home country of Jamaica. I even love the fact that he stopped a reporter during an interview so they all could stand still for the playing of the American anthem. He's class personified.

But, come on man, he's easily the fastest sprinter of all time and he did what he did in a time when everybody else he beat had been caught cheating. He's the only clean sprinter of his era? Not bloody likely. But, the way I see it, everybody else cheats so he did race on an even playing field.

You can always find reasons to believe what you want to believe, if you look hard enough. If your argument follows we should be seeing NBA athletes dominating the sprints, provided they focus on the 200m. I kind of doubt it.

Sure Bolt is supremely talented. But that doesn't rule out doping.

So all sprinters are dopers? If you sprint you do PED's, right?

Well Bolt wasn't into that and I know this, no failed drug tests and I believe what the man says about it. Not everyone cheats and is a liar.

If we’re gonna go on a roid witch hunt, there’s no shortage of athletes who come up before bolt does. Bolt has very natural coordination in his legs evident by his soccer ability and obviously the most powerful and efficient stride known to man kind. Yet he could ever rarely barely dunk a basketball. So the power seems to always be his limiting factor. load him up on the good stuff and let him explode out the blocks and carry that top speed and a 9.4xx doesn’t seem that far out of the question. I kinda wish he would just dope and go for it. there’s countless examples of seasoned pros who have all their routines set right, are well past peak age that somehow defy physics and massively on and get dangerously close to doped up records. Or if you come into the olympics with 10 second pb and walk away with the gold medal .3 seconds faster over extremely fast runners like degrade and kerley, give me a break. these new sprinters have something that is undetectable at the moment

And yeah I’ll say it agin even though the kids hate it. ETH and SAF suddenly having huge break through seasons despite being way past their primes. who tf gets faster in their thirties?? No one. otherwise it’s time to start giving all those old WRs and running backs in the NFL a raise

Sprinters dope out of competition and there was virtually no out of comp testing in Jamaica at that time.

How many world class sprinters do you actually know personally, let me guess....none.

The bottom line is Bolt was never popped for PED's this means he was clean.

Those I know who know Bolt have talked about how he simply didn't play that drug thing and would never put that stuff in his body. Bolt has talked about not being a low rent cheater.

Watching his entire career and my contact with friends of Bolt have convinced me the guy was totally clean and there is nothing anyone here with no real knowledge of the situation at all will make a dent.

Bolt simply a unique athlete on a whole other level.

That's a very good question. Peer pressure is partly the answer and the psychology of the PED belief is the other part.

So many people believe that drugs give Superhuman powers beyond the laws of physics. It's something we are conditioned to believe. A kind of religious dogma. We aren't allowed to question it.

Ben Johnson could run a 9.7 because of steroids, if he was capable of 9,7 then Bolt has gotta be a 9.4ish cat. Johnson was a 10.2 Bolt a 10.00. And Bolt was by far the better 200m cat meaning he had superior speed endurance to begin with.
