Low-level, paid Russian propaganda trolls are absolutely posting here. That’s how pathetic the Russian system is. These people know nothing about running, and their job is to spin favorably for Russia.
Hey Russian troll, who is “back baby?”
I see no evidence of paid trolls posting on LR.
What I see is fervent Russophobics attacking posters, instead of their arguments, by labelling those with opposing views as paid trolls.
What does a question like "back baby" that prove?
Like hokey WWII movies where the German spy is outed by failing to know who won the World Series in such-and-such year. As if every American would know.
More than 1/3 of Americans can't even find the Ukraine on map.
As to "back baby", you probably got it wrong. This is the best answer:

Well, some just live there, and have lived there for a long time. And some are Russian agents, doing Putin's bidding. Anyway ....
FYI everyone - "Bye bye pole" is a foreign agent. Not kidding.
Nothing to be overly concerned about. Just so you can be aware of who you're talking to.
They hilariously hate it when I occasionally point them out here on letsrun.
Their objectives:
- Push propaganda, to get people believing their government's false narrative.
- Promote disinformation, to create confusion and chaos.
- Get us to argue amongst ourselves, by sowing discord and by exploiting existing divisions. This is to create disunity.
This is all straight out of the old KGB playbook. No joke.
As dumb and as crazy as it sounds, their posts on LRC are part of a grand-scale effort. These are the methods used to weaken nations from within over 5, 10, 20 year periods. It won't work here, but everyone should be aware that this is what they are trying to do.
You need some help if you think “Russian agents” are creeping around the Letsrun comment board.
There have been 2-5 obvious paid Russian trolls on LRC since around the time Russia attacked Ukraine. They are easy to spot at times, with one or more of: sudden appearance at time of invasion, off topic posts with dark admonitions for the West to back off, extolling Russian military capabilities (what a joke that turned out to be), non-native English with strange syntax and grammatical mistakes, awkward attempts at American slang and political memes, repetitive and redundant posts in multiple Russian threads, seldom engaging in actual discussion.
There is quite a bit known and published about Russia's internet trolls, many of whom are employed by St. Petersburg's "Internet Research Agency." They don't just troll large media like Facebook and Twitter, but also relatively obscure message boards like this one. LRC's political threads pop up with some Google searches, which is probably what attracted them.

They're not that happy about it they don't have anything to replace it with.
They are thrilled. They are not the bad guys. Putin is. Your hero played right into their hand.
Putin was the bad guy 14 years ago when he invaded Georgia... he was the bad guy 8 years ago when he took Crimea.... The Europeans guzzled Russian gas and oil the entire time.
Without spineless people like you in the world there would be no Putin's.

Should change your name to Disingenuous. That would be more fitting.
Weldon commented on an influx of Russian IPs, ca. 2014, when the Russian doping revelations were made public. No doubt some found a home here and have stayed. It's only increased since then and some are quite obvious. Others are sympathizers, on this side of the pond. You can often tell the difference.
Explain to me the difference between the Cuban Mission Crisis and Russia / Ukraine?
Is John F. Kennedy = Putin now?
One is a war and the other was not. Thousands of dead people, cities destroyed, war crimes committed, etc. But other than that...
You forgot the 3 most important parts, of course, I wouldn't expect more actually.
1. The US and Russia both said the same thing. Get your missiles out or we will get them out for you.
2. The US did do an act of war by blockading Cuba. It was Russia who was the calm one and offered a deal, not the US.
3. Russia actually took their missiles away from Cuba, whereas the US continues to this day to arm Russia's most historic neighbor/brother even as Russia has protested many many times.
So the difference here is simple, Russia did what the US is refusing to do now. And that's what prevented a war. Russia was the bigger country back then and today.
And that's not even talking about the coup the US did in 2004 in Ukraine. Cause you know, the US does no wrong.
If you don't think we would do the same if China armed Canada or Mexico or Cuba again, then ok, nice to live in a world where the US does nothing wrong world.

Imagine being so Russophobic that you think murdering civilians in Ukraine by the thousands is worse than a naval blockade. Why can't you Russophobes see how totally rational and unbiased the above poster is!! These two situations are exactly the same (don't forget the US is terrible!!1).
You just proved yourself to be a pro-Russian troll on this running website where everyone in here knows the answer to Who is back baby?
Not knowing this proves you’re an outsider with no interest in track. Which begs the question, why are you on an American running site spouting pro-Russian propaganda?

Oh, the "brother" reference to Ukraine again. It is pretty clear that neither Putin nor many of his troops consider Ukrainians to be their brothers. Unless in their families you kill you brothers and rape and kill their wives. And I guess that wouldn't surprise me too much.
Since the head of USSR’s KGB is now the president of Russia, and 100s of Russian diplomats have been outed and spies the world over, we are not surprised low-level Russian propaganda workers troll public forums the world over to spin Russian topics. That’s how pathetic Russia is.
