With a 9.90 out there with hardly any wind, why didn't anyone post that? Forget about 10.03 with 1.9 m/s. I had never even heard of Azamati, the new D2 record holder from Ghana.
I usually discount amazing early-season times that have that magically-perfect +2.0 wind. The 1.9 for Boling was bad enough, but I will need to see Azamati-Kwaku back this up. Last year he went 9.97 in March and never got better, at least in raw time.
We see this same thing every year.
But he looked really good, really consistent and smoothly cyclical as he entered the high-speed part of the race. NICE race phases!👍👍👍👍👍👍

Yes, I see that now. He was in sprintgeezer's basic 2021 rankings (9.97 became 10.05 basic), which I also had never seen. There were several mentions of him, and that was it.
This website is completely skewed. I comment on news mentioned on the website, assuming people will mention the top track and field news. Occasionally, I look elsewhere for news, but this one is pathetic. 9.90 is just a tick off of the 9.89 that is the best I remember in college competition for a long time (Makusha), yet it's almost completely ignored.
At minimum, he's gonna break 10 this year. But, there's a lot of talent in the 100 so I'm not seeing a 100m title for him this time around. Unless he really DOES improve as well or more this year as he did over the season last year. Then maaaaybe he could be in the mix for the title. But even then it might be a stretch for actual first place.
Also a decent chance he ran his best race of the season and it is all downhill from here.
This is your exact quote. You didn't say "faster" you didn't say "sub 10", you said "best race". This 10.03 is NOT going to end up being his best race, barring injury. And injury is likely to mean, he just doesn't even race again.
So, again, let me educate you. A 10.04 (+0.1) is a BETTER race than a 10.03 (+1.9). If that isn't clear fact, why are we even registering winds at all? And he is, at the LEAST, going run a similar time as 10.03 later in the year, perhaps just with less advantageous wind. But frankly? He's also very likely to run a race where he gets a solid wind WHILE being more fit and/or peaked, and in that situation, you'll just have to shut your face while you see him run a 9.9x or better. But, weather IS fickle, so I can't say for a fact that it happens exactly like that. But this isn't going to be his BEST race. Even in a subpar outdoor season last year he still IMPROVED through the season.
Just like we all know why you hate 'Yakob' and Matthew Boling.
Because theyre overrated simply because of the color of their skin. And their fans dont even try to hide that fact as evidenced by this thread. I dont hate either athlete, i just judge them on their merits rather than on the color of their skin.
It might be true to some extent with Boling, but it's not really overrating him, just more natural excitement that after nearly a century wait, a non-West African descent young American sprinter is doing things.
As for 'Yakob', if anything he is underrated here. We're not talking about some kid with huge promise anymore. Your argument appears to come down to him being overrated because a lot of people think he has a shot of breaking El G's records.
Imagine on a Kenyan running forum, some white guy was constantly screaming that Tim Cheryuit and Ferdinand Omurwa were both 'overrated' because of the color of their skin...
The 100m may be his worst event but it’s his best chance at making a US team not including long jump. Still gonna be tough but most our 200m studs don’t or can’t run the 100

There aren't.....plenty of others....at all. Actually Teeters and Quinn are the only white Americans who have broke 10.10. Kevin Little, Marty Kruelee, the 10.1 guys,
Will give Darel Newman some props for his 9.2 100 yard dash.
Hard to believe just how weak white sprinters really have been since the days of Dave Sime and Bobby Morrow. Only one white American has been world ranked in the 100m, that was Georgia Techs Ben Vaughn back in the 70's.
Boling is not even close to GOAT (9.58/19.19 Usain Bolt) and a long ways to go to become the GWOAT (9.92/19.80 Christophe Lemaitre).... but he could on on the podium at this year's Worlds and nest Olympics just by repeating his 8.25m in the long jump. If he could improve to 8.50 he'd contend for gold. He's currently a world class long jumper, but not a world class sprinter. He should focus on the LJ. His running style is much better suited for jumping horizontally than crossing finish lines. My two cents.

I believe his 8.25 long jump distance would have earned silver in the last Olympics.

Dude, all I was talking about was something he can be which is the first white American to run a sub10.00, OBVIOUSLY....he will never be a GOAT other than at his high school and Georgia.
Boling gets attention because hes white, of course. Thats what happens when something rare is seen . Boling is a close to elite or elite American sprinter- you hardly ever see it.
Same reason the media hypes a black swimmer or spelling bee champ.
Did you have to listen to them? Were you on scholarship and they threatened to pull it if you didn't move up to your "natural events"?
This goes both ways as a Black decent distance runner might be ignored and told to race the 800 or the 400 or avoid the pole vault.
This happened to me in middle school and the beginning of high school, so they were in positions of power on the subject in a more decided way than you're understanding accounts for.
I was considering just leaving track altogether at the time if they kept making me run the 800. Things changed by happenstance; I'm not going to get into the details, but I eventually fought my way into being a 100/200 guy and the coaches admitted they were wrong... begrudgingly. But I lost some opportunities, more than likely, regardless of my eventual success. I went from being told I can't run the 100 cause I was short and white to eventually breaking the 10.3 barrier. Not as fast as I hoped, but not half bad.
These types of things happen to other people who don't fit "molds" and exacting stereotypes, of course. I actually mentioned that in my previous comments, I believe. The point for me, personally, is I have previous hands on experience with this very specific version of such an issue. It molding my early life, for better and worse. And it certainly effects how I view what kind of opportunities (and/or lack of in some cases) white sprinters get and how I root for them.
I also root hard for short people in basketball. Short black guys get screwed all the time, I believe. Maybe short white guys do, too, but considering that even black dudes are getting the short end (pun?) of the stick there, then it's hard to make the case for white guys prominently cause they are likely all in the same boat. And frankly these things happen at the DETRIMENT of the coaches/teams that perpetuate them. Put the best guys in positions to succeed, regardless of stereotypes, and you're obviously going to see more success for your team, program, etc. I.e, if I had been supported more by my middle school and high school coaches, they would have had more success on the track for their very own team (and their own portfolio) instead of stunting my own progress and missing out on that for even themselves.
