However spotter of grievers your handle is rather ironic. Most of the continual "grieving" is about how bad blacks have it. So if you are truly a spotter of grievers, than those who produced that commercial would be very high on your list. Also anyone who doesn't get hired and plays the race card quickly is certainly qualifies as a griever.

No it actually has the opposite effect. Particularly with those who have gone through life threatening cancer and chemotherapy. Being black is not in anyway in the same category and its disrespectful to pretend it is.

Does it increase black confidence?

No, it makes being black seem like an awful disability that blacks need to overcome.

Also as a liberal, it makes our efforts at reducing racism look silly. It just gets grouped as being more woke behavior, and the real positive moves to reduce racism become diminished by it.

This commercial fails at everything.

We liberals have seen our virtuous stances like anti racism taken so far that they become racism. This is an example. I’m not surprised because nbc is horrible. They’re the woke Fox News.

I noticed this commercial and thought it was really odd too. It stood out to me the first time I saw it.

It's saying that being around people who look different than you is an ordeal comparable to having cancer. No wonder we are such a divided nation. Apparently people seem to think we are not supposed to be united, inclusive, equal, but rather divided, separate and uncomfortable being around others not the same as oneself. How stupid!!!!

I am telling you in all sincerity, if we do not quell this uprising now, we are going to look like South Africa in like 20 years. Obviously the end tho apartheid was the right decision, on paper. But now that they have been in control of their little playground for 25 years, it isn’t really looking like a place you want to visit let alone live. Taking a walk through a major city in SA is akin to walking through a city in the Middle East if you are white. When I visit my family there they actually do not let me roll the windows down in the car when we drive through town, because there are beggars at every stop waiting to put their dirty fingers into your open windows. This is not an exaggeration. As Americans most of you here on these boards don’t even know what a decaying city looks like, you cite San Francisco, Portland, but actually have no idea what a truly abysmal government run by animals constantly shrieking about their equality can do to a place.

Again, you only say that because you're ignorant.

For every Oprah and Lebron James running around today there's 1000 kids in the inner city who are functionally illiterate with no hope for the future.

In 1960 over 80% of black kids had parents. Today 80% don't. This stat alone proves my point.

Actual slaves were more likely to stick together as a family than the modern African-American family. When broken homes are the leading indicator for virtually every negative outcome in society from crime to poverty this is a big problem.

Interesting that you chose to double down on the slavery line.

This commercial cracked me up.
