A young healthy person with literally nothing to fear from COVID doesn't want to get a vaccine that can have serious side effects. As remote as death or serious health issues from the vaccine are, death or serious health issues from COVID are even MORE remote for a young healthy person.

Blindly listening to other people and doing what you're told by politicians doesn't make you "educated" it makes you obedient...

Well, I think that depends on what you define as young and healthy. I think if you are in your 30s or older, the benefits of vaccination probably outweight the KNOWN risks.

But of course, we don't know the long term risks, and I can't argue with that. Maybe we will all drop dead of cancer in 10 years from this vaccine but I think the odds of that are vanishingly low, so I got the vaccine. Plus I was hopeful it would end this damn pandemic.

I guess the people I wonder about more, who likely aren't posting on a long distance running message board, are all these older/unhealthy/obese/diabetic people who aren't getting vaccinated. They are still dying of COVID in droves. We know that the vaccine reduces the risk of hospitalization and death. Would most of you people who are unvaccinated get vaccinated if you were in this higher risk demographic? And why aren't these people getting vaccinated?

prolly you should decline those wrong 'liberal' ideas like social security, a 40 hour workweek, medicare, food safety, workplace safety, securities regulation, universal education, ending slavery, public universities, obamacare. etc.

Despite what the media tells you the people who aren't getting vaccinated aren't all 80 year old Trump supporters in trailer parks. The demographic least likely to get vaccinated are African Americans who vote 90+% Democrat.

People are different and do things for their own reasons. Some just distrust the government. Some did the research and decided that the vaccine is more risk than reward. Some just don't care and don't want to take the time to do it. Some already had COVID before the vaccine was rolled out and believe their natural immunity after recovery is all they need.

Whatever their reasons the science has proven that the vaccine does not prevent the transmission or acquisition of the virus so the vaccination status of anyone but yourself shouldn't concern anyone let alone the government.

A more important question is how why haven’t these pharma companies been given a Nobel prize or some other such humanitarian award. If one looks passed the obscene profits being raked in by them, one can clearly see a lot of good coming out of this.
