I’m skeptical of her front running the whole way, but Gidey’s form is absolutely incredible
Sure but how else do you beat Hassan? Maybe push hard but only for 4K or so. But I don't know.
Gidey - sacrificial hare? No love lost between the two.....
Jesus. Gidey is an animal. She's brutalising this field
Gidey gonna drop a 29:40 in this slop?
We haven't seen Koko klosterhafen race much this season, and she looked like she gained a bit of weight (in a very VERY good way, she looked wasted away last summer. so something came over her and she's taking care of herself)

She's been injured.
Lap 13 - 71.7 It’s down to five -- gidey, Obiri, Hassan, gezahegne, cheptai
Lap 14 - 70.5
Lap 15 - 70.2 Now Cheptai has been dropped. Four women for three medals.
Lap 16 - 70.9 (19.14.9 - so roughly at 4:41)
Lap 17 - 70.9 (20:25.7)
Americans with 8 laps to go are stil together. Also Klosterhafen and McColgan. Pack of 5 - 21:01. That’s 30:54 pace.
Lap 18 - 70.4 Obiri now struggling to hold on to the pace. She gets dropped early in lap 19
Lap 19 - 69.8
Lap 20 - 70.4 23:56.3 29:55 pace. Still Gidey, Hassan, Gezahegne
Lap 21 - 72.3 Gidey turns her head over and says something to Hassan.
Great call before the race on Gezahegne by Euro commentator saying she's be a factor.

The Baharain athlete crossed herself at the start. Is that allowed in a Muslim country?
Bahrain have a lot of Shia Muslims who are very accepting of other faiths. Mashallah...

She's been injured.
