Regarding relative danger of drugs: You’ll never OD from smoking pot. But as someone else mentioned there is a small minority of people who may experience extreme adverse psychological events. I have seen it twice. (Stay away from all edibles and sativa.) Nowadays it would be very difficult to OD on even better than average cocaine. This isn’t 1981. Everything is stomped to pieces. Fun once in a while with some friends, but unless you’re railing 2+ grams an hour you’ll know when it’s time to back off well before redlining. I cannot fathom anyone taking any amount of cocaine for performance benefits. Comparing the two in terms of danger is a matter of comparing odds versus stakes. I know a lot of smokers, very very few have snapped. One that did became extremely volatile and did end up in the hospital for their own well-being. Let’s call it a 1% occurrence at most. (They had been diagnosed bipolar so should have abstained.) I know a lot of cocaine users, none have ever come close to OD’ing even after prolonged and sustained poly-substance intake for multiple days. A punishing come down was the grand prize. The kind that make one space out their usage.

Don’t be stupid. Moderation is the key to everything. Neither is truly harmless.

If you're looking for safe drugs...coming from a person who sees toxic effects of recreational drugs at work everyday...I would advise not using cocaine, meth, heroin or PCP. These are extremely dangerous drugs that will ruin your life.

In my experience the following drugs are mostly safe: Marijuana(although watch out for those edibles!), ketamine, ecstasy, LSD, mushrooms.

First time LSD and mushroom users should do so with someone who is experienced and is trusted— a “sherpa.” Someone who will give the user plenty of space but keep an eye on them if they get a little loose. Go to a park. Look at tide pools. Keep it together in public.

Only take these if you are in positive (or at least neutral) headspace.

I’d recommend LSD over mushrooms every time. Mushrooms can be a bit more volatile.

Serious question, as I am old and way out of the loop. How are they ingesting cocaine nowadays? Is it still like in the ‘80s, snorting lines up a straw?

I did coke before some high school races (this was in the 80s), including an 800. I can guarantee it does not help you run faster. You think you're going to crush everyone and it's hard to hold yourself back, but you're not running any faster than you would otherwise. It's a mood drug, not a performance drug of any kind at all.

i would move ecstasy into the naughty list. serotonin syndrome sounds like it's bad for you. also, why include ketamine in the nice list but PCP in the bad list? they're both dissociative anesthetics right? i've heard that the "PCP rage zombies" thing is a big myth.

Well, look at that... It turns out the report was false and he didn't have cocaine in his system after all! Yet, many of you were so CERTAIN of his guilt. Could it be that WADA gets it wrong sometimes? Is this a one-in-a-million mistake at the lab, or is it conceivable other WADA tests have been wrong in the past?

Ketamine pts mostly just sit there like zombies staring off into another world. PCP absolutely causes severe agitation(ketamine can it's called an emergence reaction but isn't too bad). PCP patients are the worst, although it's becoming quite rare.
