Over the past 15 or 20 years, NFL players have admitted to taking GNC supplements & vitamins, then positive test. Supplement & vitamin industry is unregulated. No one gets mad at guys who have tested positive while taking GNC supplements. NFL players sometimes blame GNC supplements & vitamins for positive PED test. Small amounts of steroids in GNC supplements & vitamins most likely are not causing positive PED tests. Houlihan and company do not want a legal battle versus GNC. Houlihan and company feel it is better to blame an unnamed Mexican operating a food truck. I do not believe NFL players who blame GNC and I do not believe Houlihan and her food truck story.

You obviously can't test the pork from the day Shelby ate it. But let's say you tested that taco truck on random days 3 days a week for 3 months after the event. You could also test other taco trucks selling similar pork products. It should be possible to then establish confidence intervals for specific nandrolone levels in the typical consumption of a pork burrito/taco.

Accordingly, if Shelby's test level was - say within the 95% range it would provide evidence that nandrolone levels high enough to fail a test are not uncommon. If it turns out that Shelby's level was an extreme outlier - well, just don't share that finding with anyone.

NFL players, etc have used the EXCUSE that it was a contaminated supplement.....but if a supplement actually had an anabolic it would be FAR more expensive.

The supplement industry sells mostly fillers and hype. There is no legit "pro-hormone" or "anabolic" being sold at a GNC that's anywhere close to effective as a real anabolic.

Users get lazy, users fly to close to the sun, users mess up the math, users get caught.

I do think that testing the meat from a set of similar food trucks is a good idea, but trying to construct a confidence interval is probably false precision. For example, maybe food trucks switch meat suppliers over time. Maybe it's seasonal. Etc. You could try interviewing the food truck owners about where they were getting their meat from back in December.
