Why thanks Ilias Fifa? In 2018 he was banned 4 years for links to a doping ring in Barcelona. Together with fellow spanish-moroccans Ayoub Mokthar, Idriss and El Madhi Lahouifi.

He was brought up in Spain. His parents came over to work in Spain.

In Spain you've gotta be 18 years old(+ some other requirements) to be able to get the Spanish Nationality, in fact, even if he had been born in Spain to Morrocan parents, he would have been Morrocan 'till 18. Spain bases nationality on Ius Sanguinis, unlike the US that is Ius Solis.

Excited to see what he does in Monaco. 12:50 in Rome with 2:30 last km, two starts and two wins over 1500m this season.

I honestly hate this more for McSweyn than Jakob. His medal chances are screwed, and this guy looks like the next Ramzi.

Not just McSweyn, there is Kerr, Wightman, Lewandowski who are in the hunt for a medal (likely bronze if Jakob and Tim are both in the final and 100%), and all three we can be reasonably sure are clean. However, hopefully Katir isn't in the 1500m this year (he was selected only for the 5000), and if he is doping, we can only hope he gets busted soon.

The guy is progressing so (unbelievably) fast, that he could be ahead of Tim next year.

I’m interested in hearing your opinion on why you think he’s doping, because I’m quite skeptical myself. It’s eels really suspicious that he improved his 5,000m PB by a whole minute and improved his 1,500m PB by 5 seconds in this year alone. A typical buildup of lifetime bests by a clean athlete takes multiple years to do, but Katir has somehow done it in only 6 months, suspicious if you ask me.
