Yes, there is a lot of speculation and little information. Remember, CNN or FOX or LR posters won't decide if the killings were racially motivated or a hate crime. It will be decided in a court of law. Did the shooter have online posts about how much he hated Asians and wanted them out of the country? Were there other incidents involving Asians in his past? That will all be investigated.
In the case of the El Paso shooter at the Walmart the guy had an anti-immigrant manifesto and admitted he was targeting Mexicans. There are two sets of charges in that case: State capital murder charges and Federal charges of of committing a hate crime resulting in deaths. The defense team cited mitigating circumstances such as severe mental disabilities and claimed their client was in a psychotic state when arrested. I assume this defense is an attempt to avoid the death penalty.

You say that, yet so many media outlets have already stated their beliefs...sad!

For me, it seems quite out of place for athletes and celebrities to immediately jump on the hate crime of Asian Americans bandwagon. Can anybody in these moments just be able to admit that it is obviously a mentally-deranged (with an addiction) idiot acting on his own will? Maybe it has nothing to do with a larger societal problem and that this was just one screwed up dude?
If anything, the biggest problem that can be discussed is whether someone like that should be able to get a gun so easily, but I know most days it is more necessary to explain your virtues on social media

As usual, when a white guy is involved in a mass shooting, they always say he had mental problems (no sh**!). He went specifically to Asian parlors. Killed Asian women. I don't need to be Sherlock Holmes or Columbo to figure this one out.
Also again a white guy is armed and dangerous, who just committed multiple first degree murders, is taken into custody without being harmed. SMH....
The police spokesman said he was having a bad day.....WTF!! What about the victims....they had the ultimate bad day. This racist BS in America never ends.

Aren't almost all mass shooters, white guys?

Yes!!! It does. He chose to these specific places. He chose to bring a gun. He chose to aim the gun at these specific people. He chose to pull the trigger.

Deer fellow LRC liberty-minded patriots,
The following is the official Newsmax, OANN, Fox News, Breitbart, Trump/Pence, Lauren Bobert, MTG, Ron Johnson, Gym Jordan, Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell and Proud Boys sanctioned algorithm for assigning motive to a mass shooting these days:
1) First step, determine the perpetrator's religion. If they're Muslim you're done! They are a radical Islamic terrorist motivated by their religion (which should heretofore be referred to as a pseudo-religion, political movement, or "death cult" in any discussion). The solution to the problem in these cases is to ban Islam and restrict immigration. It's irrelevant if the perp is a US born citizen or if said ban doesn't even include the perps or perps parents country of origin. The perps religion is the ONLY possible explanation for their motives and the above ban is the ONLY viable solution to prevent future attacks. If the perp is not Muslim move to step two in the algorithm.
2) Second step, if a non-Muslim committed the heinous act determine the perpetrator's race. If they are black you're done! The cause of the crime is the lack or a moral compass in the black community, blacks inherent violent nature, Antifa, or black lives matter. The only possible solutions are harsher prison sentences, for-profit charter schools, reinstatement of school prayer, and tax cuts. If the perp is neither Muslim or black, move to step three.
3) Step three, is the accused Hispanic by chance? If yes, the solutions are to build a MASSIVE border wall across our entire Southern border, permanently station US infantry / artillery / special forces along the US-Mexico border, end chain migration, deportation of all DACA recipients, and mandatory English education...TALK ‘Murican dammit! If the accused is not Hispanic move to the next step below.
4) Is the perp a teenager or a college kid? If yes, you’re done! The cause of the crime is the nanny state, generational laziness, violent video games & movies, pre-marital sex, porn, and the absence of God (The Christian God) in schools. We need to ban all porn, ban all violent video games & movies, teach abstinence-only sex education, bring back school prayer, and slash all entitlement programs (except for Medicare and social security for the elderly...).
5) Can it be proven that the perpetrator is a registered Democrat? If yes, you’re done! The cause is the violent political ideology of the left. Didn’t you know the Nazis were Social Democrats? Didn’t you know that the Democratic Party of the early 20th century was pro-segregation? The only solution to save our Democracy is to have single party control of the Government and to make Trump & his family POTUS for life—that’s how you save Democracy!
6) Is the accused a woman? If yes, this is a rare event but the cause is the loss of family values, no fault divorce, legalized abortion, easy access to contraception, and women’s inability to handle work related stress. We need to ban all abortion, contraception, and divorce to prevent such incidents in the future.
7) This is the final step. In this step the perpetrator is a white male that may or may not be a Christian. In these cases (which are the majority) the only possible explanation is mental illness. In these cases it is way too soon to discus doing anything! After all we cannot overreact to these situations by passing EXTREME new laws! The only option is to turn to prayer and realize that we are helpless to prevent further similar incidents.
After some time for prayer and reflection, the only reasonable possible solution is to arm every man, woman, and child with large caliber firearms and mandate open carry at all times.
Please follow the above algorithm at all times to insure a productive, reality based discussion of crime in America on the boards. That is all.
Exactly!!

I'm not defending the guy. He obviously deserves the death penalty (and that is likely too humane). He certainly targeted brothels. I don't really take any criminal at their word as criminals lie all the time. If there is a racist angle here, that is terrible as well, but doesn't influence whether he should or shouldn't die (he is a terrible person who deserves to die regardless). Racism is abhorrent. Some of the racists in this situation that nobody is talking about are the massage parlor owners who are exploiting migrant women for financial gain.

I do not think he did this because they were Asian, Pig Man.
I may be wrong but... he drove down the strip and passed plenty of strip clubs where white women work, he didn’t shoot them. He didn’t even stop at them.
Looking at naked women and being touched by naked women are completely different things.
He passed up Chinese food restaurants as well that had Asian workers.

Exactly. These low intellect a$$holes that live on the 'everything is white supremacy racism" train are too dense to comprehend this.
The perp had obvious problems and deserves to rot in prison for the rest of his life. But these race-baiting a$$holes have problems, as well.
You should follow your own advice about reading comprehension. Baker, is also the spokesperson for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s office. Read the article before responding in the future.
One of the most predictable aspects of these boards is that as soon as an obviously-racist incident happens, not only will the first thread be about how it wasn't racist; that thread will also be the most-commented, usually by white men explaining how they understand racism, and this isn't it.
I identify as very liberal.
We have serious racism problems in the US and the Asian community has been more under attack than ever.
I do not think this particular crime was based on hate of an ethnicity.

The only thing the article says about Baker, is he the spokesperson. That's all.
Nice try, Jack.

Based on what evidence? Do you have any idea what the shooter was thinking when he was planning and executing his crimes? Have you ever talked to the suspect? Have you read his social media posts?
No one here has any idea about the guy's motivations. Maybe people should just wait until charges are filed before jumping to conclusions - including all of the media. If Federal prosecutors think there is a hate crime case they will file the charges.
umm, nope wrote:

No, dunce. In the court of law, your assertion of 'racism' doesn't hold up until there is direct evidence. This is what you race-baiters do... you level charges of 'racism!' without evidence. Again, he might have been kicked out for unknown reasons. Perhaps he was triggered by this, and flipped out. As of now, it looks like he was a frequent, so maybe there was something that the workers did not like about him, and they wanted him gone.
If a defense lawyer (who might be a democrat) fights the hate crime narrative, is he/she a "stromfronter"... is he/she a 'white supremacist'? No.
The overreaction and race narrative foolishness is extremely dangerous, but predictable.

Did you ever ask yourself - "sex addiction? Why didn't he shoot up a strip club? hunt down a porn star? blow out a store that sells porn mags?"
Nope. Your immediate reaction is "how can I make the racism part go away?" Because that's easier than doing the work of understanding that a significant number of white people think it's ok to act out on people of other races, because they're "lesser.." and when they do something horrific, there must be an understandable reason.
Look at your own words:
-triggered
-flipped out
-overreaction
-foolishness
Clown.
All of these clowns follow the same script.
