Also, the idea that slow runners at the back "spreads out the field" makes no sense.
exactly... same ratio as prior years 80/20
remember that it's not all 'charity'
there are lots of corporate, municipal. and club numbers issued as well.
in the not so distant past, those numbers matched or exceeded charity entrants
