The difference is that Tom Brady probably gets over 1k notifications a minute. Centro’s media is probably fairly quiet right now, and with the snow he’s got time indoors to respond to petty folks.

He also follows Cole on Instagram so he saw his post
Why did Centro take the bait ? I heard he’s banged up right now too — taking his anger out on college kids

It’s impossible to find an Oregon runner of the last couple decades that’s not socially awkward as hell. No one that you’d want to hang out with. Grad transfers excluded.
Wheating seems pretty cool
Frat boy personality that’s dumb as a box of rocks? Pass.

Do you really think Brady would respond if he had less notifications?

I kinda see both sides of this. I think the Carter comment was really meant to be a joke, but I also understand where Centro is coming from. This new crop of Oregon guys are REALLY feelin' themselves (their Youtube, Instagram captions, Podcast appearances), and they straight "disrespect" Centro & Oregon alum to the point where it is no longer joking. After the 5k in December where Centro edged Hocker, they made comments, including on Instagram and on a Podcast (Teare said things like, 'He snaked Cole. Well, Centro raced in a t-shirt. So I guess he should've won'). Centrowitz IS the Olympic Champion, and it shocks me that this current group of Oregon guys is bashing him instead of showing respect to a guy that showed that their system worked (HS Champ, College Champ, Olympic Champ), but what ever floats their boat.
That being said-- Centro IS the Olympic Champion, and if he really wanted to clap back, he should've done it in a mature way. His comments about them not respecting the Oregon Alum/dynasty and not really winning anything yet were valid, but it just came off so wrong. That being said-- these kids can't keep poking the bear and them play victim like "OMG! He is so petty. He is too old to be clapping back at us." (Definitely see this all the time on Tik Tok).
I've always been intrigued by the Cooper Teare & co. track generation. Since their "Nike Elite Camp Days", these guys are always d***eating each other (just my opinion), and that was their Youtube in a nutshell. Cooper, Hocker, Hunter, and Reed Brown are insanely talented, and this weekend was an insane breakthrough for them in the NCAA, but I also see Centro's perspective. It would be like him beating Bernard Lagat and Andrew Wheating as a college kid at USAs in 2011, and then him going online and talking sh*t. You gotta respect the guys who came before you.
I don’t understand a defense of Centro. Would Tom Brady write a novel of a response if some Michigan player tagged him in a Shea Patterson highlight clip? No, because he’s got better sh!t to do.
Haha hey man- Don't bring Brady into this!
And I didn't by any means defend Centro, so don't say that. I just see why he might respond (I don't agree with it- Id rather him stay offline, but I understand it). That whole little Youtube crew of Oregon guys (some just videotape and can't even run a step) have been bombing his comments ever since he raced in the non-fast heat against Cole Hocker in December. Any educated runner would see that Centro was clearly opening up his season post-injury, but the younger guys turned it into a whole beef, so he probably felt disrespected. The kid commenting "your move" was probably enough for him to say screw it and comment back. Can't say I would retaliate like he did, but they were poking the bear (shrugs shoulders).
One could make the argument they have better things to do than worrying about what Centrowitz thinks...

Haha- thank you. I try.
That being said-David Melly from Tracksmith looks SO petty with his Instagram story + tweet saying, "Gold medals can't buy you class." I wish he would also stop.
Who?
Exactly (claps)

I don’t understand why an Olympic gold medalist would respond in such a way to some annoying college kids tagging him. At all. It’s pathetic.
trash talk is good for the sport
between athletes, i must clarify...

Yeah the rest of the replies in that thread are people being stupid. Silva especially acting childish
Haha dude the same people complain that Oly Champs /pro runners don’t interact enough with the fans. Be quiet.
evert silva tries to get any sort of attention he can. it annoys me. the second centro posted he was RIGHT there making sure he got some of that attention. it’s always about him.
It’s not a dichotomy. You can be interesting and engaging without being pathetic.

Thank you!! Someone gets it. That Silva kid is running for clout. He has done nothing in college besides showcase his runner friends. And he ALWAYS comments disrespectful stuff on Centro’s grams just thirsting for attention.
Cooper is so damn talented, but their comments/constant d*ckeating in their whole damn YouTube clique is so childish and hurting my thoughts on him. I’m honestly glad Centro commented back. Cooper lowkey trashed him and Powell on a podcast, and I’m sure Centro was just like enough of this crap. He’s right- he hasn’t won a title. He definitely has arrived in the NCAA, but no need to start crap with Centro.
It’s a lose-lose situation. They’re starting beef with Centro because he didn’t post/congratulate the Oregon crew, but at the same time, they’re commenting dumb sh*t on his posts.
On another note- can we clap it up for Charlie Hunter!! So damn versatile, and so damn humble. Great weekend for him.

That’s quite ironic. You said he’s not interesting and engaging, yet here you are spending your time commenting about him lol
Centro is the pit. On repeat: Centro is the pit.
Years of performance should resolve in this top dog having his place.
Given social media access that currently exists, Centro is in the right when it comes to smacking down those that try to call against him.
OU runners could have just run their time and moved to the next step - but they barked at Centro's door - and they got what they deserved.
If you swing at the king, make sure you hit.
Matt - stay fit, make all the right decisions.

Where did I say that his embarrassing tirade was not interesting?

0/2 on that with regards to the thread topic.
