Katelyn Tuohy Major Knee Surgery

Leading up to that statement that she took time off for her knee, wasn’t there also the issue with her being fatigued? Picture just wasn’t clear at the time.

Since you are so well informed, perhaps she can post how many mpw she was running by year, and provide the source of that info? She ramped up her training before her sophomore year - that is well documented. beyond that, not so documented that I know of. And, her best XC times were during her Junior year (yes right before the knee started hurting).

Did she run more miles than her body could handle? It would seem so. But that is how she took the leap as a sophomore.

This is from an interview with her coach before the 2017 XC season from her local newspaper.

“As good as she’s been, what’s amazing is this summer her training has gone to a new level. As she gets older as a runner and stronger as a runner, we’re able to add more components. "

In fairness to her coach, I gathered from an interview with her (don't recall which ones(s)) that she runs more than he'd prefer. Now maybe he could come down harder on her for that, assuming he's aware, but it sounds like it could be an issue of her not being very coachable.

She's been running of the elite level for 5 years now so she has some experience

Also they're going to have a lot of trainers and doctors out of school like NC State so they'll definitely figure out some realistic goals

If she can't quite get to the level of a professional Runner and she wants to be a professional athlete she could almost definitely be a professional triathlete

She's an amazing swimmer and bikers so she's already way ahead of most girls her age as a triathlete

You are agreeing with me without even realizing it. If she slowly built up to maybe 50 miles per week by her senior year, she would have had a better career. Instead, she was likely running 50 miles per week as a sophomore and then hit a massive plateau and then had to get surgery due to an overuse injury. Atrocious coaching.

So you have no idea how many miles she was running in any year. I see. So you have no idea if she increased mileage after her sophomore year, and if so from what to what. Yet you post that she should not have increased.

Try backing up something with facts.

Any update on Katelyn? The girls in the NC state video didn't even mention her. That seems odd when the best high school runner in the nation is coming to join them, and can't be there with them.

You have to scroll to the 4th picture. If she had knee tendonitis surgery then wouldn't the scar be bigger? I'm not an expert by any means though.

No info on any of the NC State freshman except for a picture or two on their website

I would think the coach is doing that for team chemistry. They have a lot of good older Runners as well and I don't think you would want to seem like you're favoring the young runners

But is probably a fine line cuz you do want to build interest in the team and a fanbase so , but I think things are pretty uncertain over schedule because the coronavirus is bad there

The SEC is the only conference where I have seen that they have released the schedule but that might change shortly

I think it's a real shame that a talented young athlete should be having serious injuries so early in her career - if the knee-surgery claim is correct. Either bad luck or over-work.

Most knee surgeries are done through a scope which leaves a small scar or to. Also allows for quicker healing. She'll be back.

There is again zero evidence that she had any surgery. This is just a rumor started by an anonymous person without the slightest proof. But people seem to be very gullible.

She did not have surgery. She is just falling behind.
