As a result, Trump can say goodbye to ever visiting any of his foreign properties. And it likely his family will be not be able to travel outside the U.S. any more. The family becomes the prime target to get to Trump.

Iran has not changed one but since we fvcked their country up decades ago. We had a working and verifiable deal with them, it was a huge step forward in terms of reestablishing any meaningful diplomatic relations. Trump can’t stand Obama so he pulled out of it without a thought. Iran has been desperate for a while and will continue to be as we have shut them out through sanctions. It is nothing but nonsensical daydreaming to view their people as wanting to be liberated by some democratic nation, especially America. That has been a failed test multiple times in recent history. Iran is absolutely not afraid after this drone strike, they are emboldened. Killing Soulemani was a good thing, but clearly has put thousands of new American lives in danger. We don’t know if that’s a good trade off yet. Surely we had many other targets to choose from, it trump probably wanted to claim he took out a big fish. Our president knows nothing about strategy, we should be afraid. Iran has the go ahead to do something much more dangerous.
You are a binary thinker. I’ll make it simple. Taking out Soulemani does very little to prevent Iran from being bad. They are more pissed and their govt now has cover to kill Americans, and possibly more openly this time. Iraq just told us to GTFO. We tapped out of Syria not long ago. Iran’s influence in the region will only grow. Russia’s influence in the region will only grow. Israel will be in more danger. We will have less and less say in any ME affairs. You may think that’s good or irrelevant to us, until we get the next large scale terrorist attack. We can’t be an isolated super power and we cannot afford another war in the region. Soulemani deserves nothing but death, the question is what is the cost of taking him out and what is out strategy. Do you think Trump has thought through that?

The 1970s called.. out goal is not to protect oil. We don’t have oil in the ME, we have allies that can sell us cheap oil and do other valuable business with us. We are becoming energetic independent so allies’ oil assets are less and less important. Stability and peace is critical, for obvious reasons. What is being done about that? Is threatening another 52 targets after killing their #2 man the way?
