giving money to the president so he gives your company federal contracts is in no way equivalent to supporting a candidate financially because he agrees with your concern for the environment.
1. They would have gotten contracts anyway
2. They donate / pay and get something in return. There's no real difference
I realize he's just a troll, but this moral depravity is exactly the kind of shit that is killing our country.
Nonfarm payrolls jumped a seasonally adjusted 172,000 for the period, down slightly from the upwardly revised 179,000 in April and far above the Dow Jones consensus estimate for 80,000. The unemployment rate held steady at 4.3%, as expected. “This is a labor market that is stronger than it was last year and is looking pretty darn solid, despite high energy prices and higher inflation generally,” said Gus Faucher, chief economist at PNC. “There’s no indication that the labor market needs support.”
Don't let facts get in the way of your BS narratives.
Facts. Beating an estimate is not the same as having a strong jobs market. Private payrolls beat estimates, but fell from last month. And, job growth this month was less than half of what Biden averaged for 48 months. That’s a fact. Don’t let it get in your way of your BS narrative.
An indictment filed Wednesday alleges a media company linked to six conservative influencers — including well-known personalities Tim Pool, Dave Rubin and Benny Johnson — was funded by Russian state media employees to churn out English-language videos that were "often consistent" with the Kremlin's "interest in amplifying U.S. domestic divisions in order to weaken U.S. opposition" to Russian interests, like its war in Ukraine.
Remember when Trumpers said the Ballroom was A-OK because it was privately funded.
Well we quickly learned that was a lie as Congress tries to get one billion funding from Taxpayers
And today we learn this from NYT...
Trump's Ballroom donors miraculously won over 50 Billion in new contracts after they put their names on Trump's list. It's a Christmas Miracle!
Did anyone expect they donated him that money out of sheer generosity? There's no real difference between climate donors donating to a politician so they vote a certain way (or, if it's leadership, bring something up for a vote) and this.
(1) making this sort of post while denying we have a post citizens united problem, verges on obscene. "they're all bought and paid for" ergo do nothing about it?
(2) your guy only runs on draining the swamp then seems only concerned with his opposition and does the most naked sort of pay to play for his partisans and donors.
(3) someone pro climate who gives money is generally supporting policies. the government isn't turing around and feathering their nest by buying their widgets at a margin. someone who, say, wants to merge two different states' energy companies, which might raise antitrust issues, so they can make more money......then pledges to the ballroom....then gets their regulatory approvals?
(4) and then......ooops, don't have the ready cash for that pledge.....go ask congress......and while you're at it make the $300m construction project that you forced upon us by premature demolition.......into $400m estimate......into $1b estimate........
(5) it's just a weeeeeeeeee bit much of seeking donations and then oh guess what donor we have a government contract for you. nobody had a reflecting pond issue. now the reflecting pond needs a bizarre, counterproductive pool style coating. now trumo's buddy gets the contract.
no democracy on the decisions, no bidding on the projects.

per the st louis fed, the breakeven point on new employment is ~150-160k per month. every month people retire or die, and we need new workers to replace them. you need the breakeven point to keep up with ageing of the population.
trump barely made breakeven. trump has a monthly drama on (a) is jobs growth positive or (b) what tepid number he puts up. dems generally do not have this issue.
your voters got bait and switched. basic trickle down economics like every other GOP president. the president says he will deal with inflation. the man instead does things for industrialists and donors. the stock market rises on AI. but your grocery prices go up while your salary doesn't.
the other issue is between the president trying to allocate money from thin air and DOGE, the president has tried to basically take the tasking and budgeting process all too himself. like a king, he decides he wants to do something. he perhaps even signs a contract. he then either claims he will retask existing funds or get donations or some thin malarkey.
by doing so he circumvents the normal budgeting process where constitutionally congress is supposed to fund such things. he's not supposed to have billions in petty cash to sit on. "i want to demolish the east wing." go ask congress. "i want to build a ballroom." go ask congress. that then gives congress and the people some say on his fiscal shenanigans and the gaudy trash he likes to build.
the supreme court should be routinely enjoining or ruling illegal him trying to retask money or conjure it from nowhere without congressional approval and allocation. congress should be passing laws prohibiting activities they did not approve or fund. but they are asleep. and so here we are.
and then as seems typical with trump's life, the claimed financing is vaporous, the costs have massive overruns above estimates, and he wants to be bailed out by congress or us at the end.

Could also be a false moral equivalence. Hunter Biden sells a few paintings or is given a board seat he’s completely unqualified for is somewhat corrupt but it’s somewhat expected (or him going to Yale law after starting at Georgetown - that almost certainly was due to Joe’s influence as a pretty powerful senator). Trump making billions off the presidency is in a different realm.
The Great Reflecting Pool, that stretches between The Lincoln Memorial and The Washington Monument, just opened to “rave reviews” but, maliciously or not, some say, like The Washington Post, it was a “paint job.” This was not a paint job. This was highly sophisticated material, industrial strength, that could last for 100 years, applied by very talented people, many of whom came from the Great State of Oklahoma, where I won 77 out of 77 Counties, THREE TIMES, the only President to ever do so. The material is thick, strong, flexible, and has a natural, beautiful color, the dark blue of the American Flag!
'Let's put a businessman in charge of the nation!'
oops, he lost billions of our dollars in bad investments in zeros and ones.
Uncle Sam’s bitcoin stash has lost about half its value over the past eight months, declining to $20.8 billion from a peak of $40.7 billion in early October, when the cryptocurrency was at an all-time high, according to data provider Glassnode.
The U.S. government has amassed substantial bitcoin holdings over the years through the seizure of criminal assets. In March 2025, President Trump ordered the creation of a strategic bitcoin reserve, fulfilling a promise he made to the cryptocurrency industry during his election campaign.

Any idea why Trump needed to insert his election win in Oklahoma? It doesn’t seem relevant to the subject or point he is trying to make.

The crypto reserve only used confiscated bitcoin. We spent nothing on it.

We could have sold it and paid down the debt. Instead we borrowed more money.
