Those 28 miles would be a PR effort (with taper before and recovery after) for a 2:45 marathoner. RY is not a 2:45 marathoner, and especially not after two weeks of 70-80 mile days.

I invite you to focus on the elevation grade up a hill of about 1100 ft between mile 5 and 6 of this miraculous run. He only slows from about 5:56 pace to 6:15 pace for that 1100 foot one mile climb! Impossible for a human being to keep that pace during a transcon. But not impossible for an RV.

They are VERY aggressively and quickly deleting my comments on their FB. Culling out those to leave only the "great job, you released the data, ignore the doubters" comments.

If I am reading the strava info correctly. It shows 254 miles run in May and 366 miles run in June. Total of 620 miles. Where are the rest of the miles?

Is anyone here a registered poster on Runners World? If so, is it possible for you to try to contact "Doubly Bionic Ironwolf" who first posted about Rob's result in 2004, and is still active on the forums? He / she may be able to shed some light on how they heard about that result. I'm confident I have the right results listing as Tracey Haseldine and Louisa Edmonston do appear, the other runners DBI refers to.

Possibly another DQ for our Mr Young?

I'm guessing he didn't realize that it was going to be found by LRC and used it as a sandbox. His heart probably stopped when he realized what he had done. Like I said, I have it all. I'm going to upload it all to a new strava account.

Yeh, the amazing 28 miles in the 32-miler was just one of the first ones I saw. The uphill paces are even more damning, such as miles 17 & 18 in 5:44 and 5:34 with 300' elevation gain at over 5500' altitude in this 24-miler. 24 miles at a pace equivalent to a 2:53 marathon with 2100' elevation gain (most at the end) all over 5000' altitude.

2:45 and 2:53 for a marathon is a decent mark for a flat course at sea level like London for a recreational runner, but RY's PR is 3:07 at London 2015.

C'mon Robby boy. It'd take far less effort and you'd be a much better person if you just gave up on this derailed gravy train and got a real job. There's just not a lot of money in fake running anymore.

I think that gives him too much technical credit. A much simpler explanation for the smooth, road-following lines, is that those are simply the times when he was riding in/on the RV. He just straight-up posted them with no shame.

The key is to look at the pace graphs, they make it easy to distinguish his actual runs/walks from riding in/on the RV. He rarely runs more than a couple miles before pausing to walk for a bit, so his pace graphs follow a square-wave pattern with his pace regularly alternating between ~7-9min/mi (running) and ~15-20min/mi (walking).

When he's riding in/on the RV, the pace never drops below whatever ridiculous 5-6min/mi pace they're doing.

Contrast

(the second day, when he was still trying to do it legit, before the road taught him that he would have to cheat to have any chance of reaching his goal) with....

Oh, oops, I was going to link to a ~20-mile uphill stretch with no dips below 7min/mi, but I see it's already been removed from Strava! You'll see what I mean once team1.xml has his saved files re-uploaded!
