It is common for a prosecutor to take down a guy on a crime spree by picking and choosing the crime that he can most easily win conviction on. And it needs to be straight forward and simple for a jury to understand. And the evidence needs to be understandable too. And it might seem very tame compared to other crimes he is widely known to be involved in. This happens every single day in courts across this fine country. There is nobody that can look at Trump's conduct and believe he does not operate a crime spree. And that his business fraud with the porn star is tame compared to overturning an election.
What Trump is doing to Democrats and Republicans that crossed him is completely different. He is targeting people with no crime spree by looking for technicalities that he came make crimes out of. And our system is clearly recognizing the difference. He is losing these cases. Hope it still holds

we're not living in a theoretical world. If we throw trumpers in jail, we can bet all our money that when the Rs get the DOJ again the same thing will happen in reverse. Dems will be arrested and prosecuted.
The world is a messy place. We have a deeply flawed constitution that simply cannot handle having an outlaw president. We need to get past this period however we can. Throwing them all in jail will not get us past this period. It will feel great for a year or two and then when they start arresting Democratic senators for mortgage or tax fraud we will regret it.

Banning has been out of hand for years. In one case, I moved to a new place, had a different provider, and found out the IP address was banned BEFORE making a post on LRC! I was never able to get LRC to release that IP address.
Some might recall that some 15 years ago someone posted that could not post to LRC from anywhere at their university. Every address was blocked.

And this "deal" has a 60-day clock. Will Trump change that his trademarked 12-day clock before he signs? The TrumpCalendar has has 12 days lasting longer than 60 days. That gives Trump more time to "perfect" the "deal".
