What happened to Schweizer this meet?? goes from making both teams a few years ago to not even making either team this year? She was barely in the mix n both races
Had a rough time getting back from surgery last year. Give her a break
She said after her 5K performance in the media zone that she’s healthy and the fitness is there so…

Yes so? You can say the same for Miss Sus Andrews who had her “so called” breakthrough 5k at age 30 last month amd claims she’s ready. Ran like crap today to barely make the team va won like she thought she would. At least Karissa had to get back from a surgery. Andrews had no excuse

It looked like she was in that position because she was gassed. When a bump like that nearly knocks you off your feet, odds are you weren't about to unleash a winning kick.

Eh…she was in comparable position to Willis. Hunter careened out there, nobody was going to bounce off that like it was nothing. I get not rooting for Wiley given all the stuff, but this one wasn’t her fault remotely and she had it taken away.
Repeat after next, if you have the defending Champion with a bye, winning the DL does Not give you a spot. It might work in other events but not ones with the fourth spot already earned. The exception would be unusual where the Defending Champion gets injured and you have lost the slot (note that it's USATF Policy that if there are both DL and Defending Champion the Champion gets the slot).
There was a pretty popular T&F twitter acct (Track Spice) that would report on athletes’ personal lives. They liked to post shady tweets about sprinters, including Lyles and his fiance. Strangely enough they always uplifted Kenny and his girlfriend lmao.
Anyway, Gabby found out that it was either Kenny’s gf or someone from his team behind the page. She tweeted about meeting the owner of Track Spice at Grand Slam Philly. The page was immediately deactivated afterward
I have not read every bit of this thread, but looking at the overall results, Valerie Allamn had the best overall performance. Her opening throw was a winner by about 8 feet; it was her shortest throw, and with two over 70m, it is among the best ever in a Championship with a full arena because you are not getting the lift provided by a quartering headwind.
And yes there was a ton of other great stuff, and people like different events so my remarks where for me, not thinking about what others should appreciate most. And both shot competitions were great in different ways; another dominating performance from Chace Jackson and great drama and great performances from the men.
How is possible for Hunter to go without standard?
His world ranking will increase after this race, and it MIGHT increase from other races he does. If he's in the world ranking quota by the time USATF names the team, that might do it.

I guess you have to be closer to 3rd than 1.75 seconds to be in the mix. Apparently distance runners don’t stay at the same peak level year after year, they go up and down. As an outsider, I thought she fought hard and gave it a good shot. I saw her in Terre Haute in 2016- so that was almost 9 years ago when she won NCAA XC if I remember correctly.
Some competitive races which were fun to watch. The distance races have to go faster though, Cole Hocker had no business winning the 5k, he even implied as such in his interview. Shelby too. Times were pathetic. I realize for some it’s a double but these are the best athletes in the world, let’s show some moxy. Give Hoey and Neguse credit, they tried to make their races fast. Many of these athletes are gonna get smoked at Worlds.
This meet repays only 1-2-3. Anything else: not the athletes’ problem. The way T&F is designed is for One Big Play - Gold. There are better systems for selecting the overall most consistent athlete, as seen in other sports. The powers that be think that’s the only way to play the sport to fans. They need to wake up. That’s not working. What’s better? & who, specifically, is “gonna get smoked”?
