God we don’t need another Arcadia, someone please take it out in 4:20
brother unless you want to run through leagues, division trials/finals, and masters trials/finals yourself to rabbit the state final 3200 through in 4:20 i dont think its happening. the athletes are focused on winning 1000%. there is a reason the group of oldheads that sit in the red seats under the announcers booth call the 3200 the "bathroom break"
totally forgot about Jubak! He has had an amazing year definitely would throw him in that top 5 for 1600. Also Luke Sanders has a great kick and on his home track could be a surprise.
So they'll let boys compete in girls events AND make everyone compete in 90 degree heat and subject the athletes to heat stroke?
Yep. There are at least 2 known biological males who have dominated all year and are competing in at least 5 GIRLS' events (D1 hurdle events and D3 Jump events) between the 2 of them. I'm sure there are others that are flying under the radar also.
In addition to all the victories that these 2 boys have stolen from girls all season, those 5 events they are competing in tomorrow each are likely to result in a girl's season ending earlier than it should, and another chance for a hard-working girl to PR at CIF Finals will be taken from her.
Girls' times and distances clearly get better and better each week into the postseason, so these girls' that are accomplished, but just on the wrong side of the qualifying line will be directly affected by the boy who takes their spots, and so will their PR's, which will affect their chances to compete at the next level.
Stop the madness. Protect our daughters.
Defund CA. Defund Maine. Defund Washington. Defund Oregon. Who else?

I agree that males in women's sports is not fair but people are pushing to defund all the schools in those states. Does that not seem overkill? Sports are secondary to Academics afterall.

The consequences are large enough that these States should reconsider their lack of protection for girls.

not happening. We are an in championship season. If nobody was willing to take out in a time trail environment, you really think they would do so in less ideal conditions in championship style racing? Jason Parra was a hero.
I was over exaggerating lol. Still can’t help but be a little disappointed from the Arcadia meet. I kind of feel like the state meet is the final chance that Cali can redeem itself

You'll get redemption in the sprints. This year's state meet has the potential to be the fastest ever in that regard. On the guys side there are 8 guys already running 47.0 or faster. Five relays under 41 seconds. Seven under 3:15.
ALERT! 🚨 — Just received word from Chris Ruff that reigning state 100/200 champ @brandonjubie2 of Mt. Miguel HS wobbled home in the 100 at league finals this hour in 10.95. He did advance. Am told Arrington said it seemed like a cramp. Am also told it looked more perilous.
Sprints goes crazyyy but lowk Cali distance need some redemption after Arcadia. Can’t lie and say that this season was semi disappointing on the distance side
My favorite part of the CA state meet are the state leaders that DON'T even make it to that meet. Lets the underdogs who've been training all season to peak at the right time outshine them. You love to see it

Yeah I won't disagree with that, but let's hold off until after states is over - we still have a whole month of qualifying racing.

Agreed, i'm always curious what unheralded talent goes to Clovis at their sharpest. Makes for an interesting meet.
How do so many athletes just suddenly get injured right before postseason it's insane
i can only speak for the sprints since that mostly what i have experience training high-level runners in but from what i've seen
- people do wayyyy too much in the offseason and it really runs down their "training clock". i think that as soon as you start special endurance type workouts you only have 2-3 months before the injuries start showing up. also, just general wear and tear from 4-6 months, if not more, of nonstop training.
- too little competition/high level running experience across the entire season, so when people start getting pushed their bodies aren't prepared for that level of exertion
- too much high level running across the entire season. i've noticed a strong correlation between teams that run arcadia/mt sac back-to-back and not making it through the postseason. i'm rooting for servite to get that state title and break 40 seconds but I also wouldn't be shocked to see them flame out during CIFs - they have done a TON of traveling and racing this season, and many of them have been running since winter champs.
- i think there is an epidemic of people failing to recover properly, like failing to get enough sleep, failing to properly manage stress from academics and life, not getting enough food and water, all of which contributes to CNS overexertion that really starts to show at the end of the season when people are running their hardest
