was this the earliest Wilson was able to run after the transfer by rule or was something else holding her up? love her or hate her she is clearly in shape. 16:19 not too shabby for her first effort of the season.

Actually both are regular season meets and don’t advance you to anything.
In the case of at larges, Clovis would help much more.
At-large NXN bids should not have any affect on Cal teams racing schedule this year, since the chances of a Cal at-large is so miniscule. If they truly want to focus on making NXN, then the state meet is all that matters.
Was this the team that caught the bug at woodbridge invite?
kind of silly to go hard effort like this a week before clovis. That race actually matters, this one does not.
Yes, and the state meet matters. Section Finals are important too because making to state won’t be easy from the D1 southern section. Lots of good teams in that section are left at home every year

On the girls side how many at large teams will CA get?

I’d say at least one because there are lots of CA teams that are highly ranked in the nation, not so sure about 2 at larges because last year on the NXN course, Buchanan is the only girls team that finished high

Good point, there is strength there. Based on trunner's post of the tully rankings, it looks very likely to be at least 1, with a good chance for 2. But an at-large needs to be very good, not just top 30, but usually top 20 in the nation.
National Rank / School Name / Average SR 1 Santiago Corona (SS) 132.84 3 Ventura (SS) 131.46 8 Buchanan (CS) 126.45 17 JSerra Catholic (SS) 121.57 27 El Toro (SS) 118.01 31 Tesoro (SS) 117.49
after fading at woodbridge in 14:04(probably due to sickness), Noonan seems to limp to the line at Nike town Twilight, hunched over, collapsing at the line again. This might be season-ending.
Since Wilson transferred, she had a sit out period. That was an incredible season opener on a tough course. I witnessed it and she looked very very strong. Definitely looked like she had much more in the tank since she was so far ahead from the start of the race.
Not many people have been talking about the smaller school divisions, but St Mary’s of Berkeley (d4). Looked really good at Artichoke today. Won the small schools race by 100 points.
I’ve been looking for divisional rankings to see where they stack up in d4, but haven’t found any. They’ve got to be top 5 at least though.
Right now, JSerra might be the favorite in D4, depending on how their new senior transfer Newman does. They are 7-deep at least.
Oaks Christian is another team that can challenge for a D4 title with a strong top-2 they have. They put 5 guys in the top 10 at the Marmonte league invite. But they don’t have much room for error because their 6th and 7th guys are far back

Fitchen Young dominated them and he's probably running 14:45 at state. Being over 30 seconds behind him on a short course is not a good sign. JSerra and Oaks are both probably putting 3 or 4 runners faster than 15:30 at state. It's really just a 2 horse race where JSerra has massive depth and Oaks only has 5 runners but higher potential.
I would say St Mary is 3rd or 4th at worst in the state right now. It just depends on how they match up vs Palos Verdes who seem to be around their level.
