US women bombed. Seidel a surprise. Enough talk about Bates being in 2:19 shape. Sisson disappointed. She was our top chick and 2 miles behind the real race.
When she said in the last 5K she was thinking she should never run a marathon again. I love the honesty and laughed out loud.
Olympic marathon is going to be interesting...

Doubtful. I suspect he’s happy for Kelvin. It’s the nature of sport
nope. He is fuming!

i didn't see the interview with him. there are plenty of high level kenyans who have been interviewed in english during recent years. does kiptum speak better english than them, or is it similar?
if he is better than the others, it is noteworthy. if he isn't, why are we discussing it.

Kipchoge will probably be DNS and go for another cash grab in Berlin.
Berlin must be kicking themselves for not inviting Kiptum and organizing a Kip long run instead.
Please don't disrespect the best to ever do it
Plus he has 4 Olympic medals a loss in Paris would still be OK
Debatable now isn’t it? You forget this is running. We only care about what happens today. The sport has no history.
Bates either dropped at 35k or jogged it in for 2:25 ......still perplexed on her strategy not to take water during the race.
Herad Emily S say she had a side sitch on the right side when finishing

Anyone know where Bates is? I really thought she would be first American today.
Bates 2:25:04
Des 2:27:35

Ya'll know they've had smart phones and the Internet in Africa for a generation now?
Y'all know the iPhone was released in 2007, right?
That was 16 years ago.
But yes, your statement is obvious.

she is just honest. no coach speak/athlete speak. refreshing
Kiptum sub 2 in 2025 seems almost a foregone conclusion

Molly is still in her 20's and is the youngest of the top 4 US women finishers.

I don't buy it - sure sub-2 will be seen right now
But let's not forget about the heavy doping practices going on in east Africa. Also how much is contributed to those shoes?

Wait what
Has Hassan worn alphafly before because I think all previous was vaporfly
I think there is a 3rd generation alphafly given to the pros but haven't been keeping up on the releases
Still cannot process 2:00 being on a marathon finish clock in this decade WITHOUT DRAFTING !
