This is a very strange claim. Are you saying that one of the Buchanan coaches drove all the way from Clovis to LA to watch the SS prelims, witnessed the walking, and was seen rolling his/her eyes? Or was there a social media post or video that they replied to?
From what I said I don’t think anyone could think I was saying that a coach drove from Clovis to LA to watch the SS prelims, witnessed the walking, and was seen rolling his/her eyes.
But since it was confusing…Rich Gonzales posted a picture on his IG of the Jserra runner…tagged JSerra…said that the runner was seen walking up the hill…started to run again when the competition was closing in…and still won the race. A coach from Buchanan…from their private IG account…with their name and profile picture…commented with an eye roll emoji…followed by likes of the eye roll including from Rich Gonzalez…then poof the post was deleted.
Okay, so it was a social media post rather than in-person. When there is talk of any sort of interaction my first though is in-person rather than online since I don't use social media much. Thanks for the clarification! That is very disappointing to hear.

Sadly social media has a lot of disappointing behavior. I have a background in counseling and social media can be very damaging to kids. I am never happy to see adults mocking kids online but it’s especially upsetting that a coach/educator jumped in. Maybe that is why it was deleted.
Agreed, social media can be very disappointing. That picture and caption should have not been promoted or posted by Rich prep Cal track. The original post was very condescending toward the the other athletes competing and doing their best regardless what was going on with the top runner in that race.
Why do teams that all of a sudden become good, also become immediately easy to hate. JSerra having their first girl WALK today in the middle of a race until the next group caught her is so disgraceful to the sport. Ok, you are good we get it, but have some class.
The kid has a health condition. She had blacked out in multiple races, two of which were at Woodward Park. I won’t say more for obvious privacy reasons, but I think it’s safer to suspect she was managing that issue in the race as opposed to, as you say; being “disgraceful to the sport.”

I think it is really tasteless to assume that someone is walking during a race for any other reason than they need to for some reason, and especially at Mt Sac. If an adult had said that to me in person, with no other evidence than seeing them than walking until another runner was closing in. I would tell them to their face that a good human being wouldn't say that. I mean it, even if it meant I might get punched in return, that is just a lousy thing to say about a kid with no evidence. Good people don't think like that. Some people need to be reminded of that.
Sounds like the eye roll was directed at the post for being made. Buchanan has had a few walkers in their day. Glad it was taken down and hopefully the girl is doing ok.
anyone know whether or not emmanuel perez went all-out today? was it a tempo effort?
He went all out. Tried to brake the record. A credible runner at the meet mentioned it. There’s no way in hell he runs a 14:39 at tempo pace.. why even ask that.

Rich Gonzalez liked the eye roll so I don’t think -at least it doesn’t look that way. As the eye roll received more likes the post was deleted. Just not a good look all around.

That is terrible. I hope someone who knows this girl can report this. Rich Gonzalez is associated with Nike. I don’t think they would like a kid being mocked online. Why would his photographer even take the picture and assume something terrible…about a kid! The Buchanan coach is a rival school that hasn’t had a great year and Jserra has outshined them. I’m sure that athletic director wouldn’t like being associated with this behavior. blaming the kid for how this looks for the sport??? No! These adults made the sport look terrible this weekend.

Today in one of the NXR heartland open races there was a guy who was all the way up front in the beginning of the race and he was dancing until people caught up to him

Anyone expect Westview to win D1 at CIFSDS? I know Torrey Pines was the preseason favorite and I haven't been following Westview through the season. Funny enough, TP was the 4th team in the merge but as 3rd in the D1 race didn't qualify for state. Looks like their 4th and 5th runners really struggled. Sage Creek looked good in the D3 race which was good to see (they tempo'd league finals and I wasn't sure everyone was healthy)

You can be sure that if kids were on a school team misbehaving on social media there would be swift consequences.
Good point. Well then, go try to ruin their careers, I guess.
What else would make sense considering the harshness of liking a emoji tweet of questionable intent?
Maybe you can tear down something that the guy spent decades of hard work and goodwill to build up in one quick motion! People like you are the WORST!!!
Wow, your bar for worst is low. When the poster deleted the post, they knew it was wrong to post. A delete does not equal an apology. Online posting has consequences, no one should be exempt based on career.

Then put your name on it and go after him, I guess. But you guys won't... because you're cowards...
