Emerson polls. . . . LOL
The 34% counts consists of 53 carefully chosen people out of 153 black people surveyed. Statistically meaningless.
Emerson also surveyed 725 white people out of 1092--awfully white sampling there, Utah-based survey team. Emerson still counts Hispanics as an ethnic group. Ops.
Now, go find the real Emerson data set and look at it before jumping to a meaningless conclusion.
People voting against their best interest comes at a cost.

Hollowing out of America for cheap consumer goods, war, and financialization. Loss of community, sense of purpose, and political leaders not working for a common purpose, rather serial re-election carnivals.
“Woolf disputes that notion, saying only 10% to 20% of health outcomes can be attributed to medical care. He said the bigger culprit is a lack of social programs and support systems more common in other wealthy countries for when working families run into difficult times.
Those rough spells, often associated with a job loss, can lead to the kind of unhealthy behaviors – drug and alcohol abuse, smoking, overeating, suicide attempts – that result in what have become known as ‘deaths of despair.’ “

I think there’s a lot of truth in that.

No, probably not.
See, that's what journalists do: They find news and print it, even (or especially) if it doesn't neatly dovetail with what the editorial page would advocate.
And the Times's op-ed page is also more enlightening than it used to be, now that they've added a cadre of conservative voices over the last several years.
Gosh--you'd almost think they were interested in informing the public, rather than simply pushing a particular party. Go figure.

And speaking of drug abuse, Crackhead Hunter strikes again.

Warren had been my top choice for a while, but she's just pushing the free college thing too much. This is one of the reasons I am not "Feeling the Bern". I am not against that because I think it's too progressive. I'm all for progressive ideas, but in today's America, we have too many people attempting college already. We have a ton of crappy colleges out there and Community Colleges that will take anyone for cheap. We are already scraping the bottom of the barrel with regard to students who are prepared and able to go to college and be successful. Just not a good idea or a good use of money.
Klobuchar has risen to be my favorite. I like Buttigieg a lot also, but he is unsurprisingly not polling well with African Americans (solely because he is gay). We have to do what we can to beat Trump though, so if the Senate doesn't follow through with its duty to this country and Trump is allowed to run again, it might have to be Biden.

It’s getting pretty obvious that Trump won’t be our opponent, he will be in jail by election time. This is why I think we should go with the best candidate for America and not water down our candidate because of Trump.

Hmm. In jail by election time? That would surprise me. A chance still that he will not be able to run in 2020...due to conviction, due to resignation, due to his health. Senate Republicans still have a chance to ignore their duty here and allow him to remain in office. Crazy.
If he lives long enough, prison will be his reality.

A good, decent, faithful, honest person.
Can you imagine?
Can't wait.
Go Joe.
I see it too.
The 2020 election is a test for our system and our country. Many democracies have failed to authoritarians who knew how to manipulate enough of the electorate and gain control over different government bodies. Don't think for a second we are immune to this. We are not. The Riggeds, and the Sallys and the Wigins and the Iggys and the millions of Americans just like them give Trump the power to intimidate other elected officials.
I have to say something that is rather obvious by now. THE KING HAS NO CLOTHES! Everyone, including the people mentioned above know that Trump has repeatedly lied and purposely and illegally withheld needed money from Ukraine to in order to get them to publicly state they were investigating the Bidens. (You know this is true so stop pretending you don't). He only did this to gain election help. You know he has furiously blocked witnesses and documents that additionally would clearly implicate him. You know he makes it very costly for any government official to come out with the truth. He demands total loyalty and even subjugation to him. He has abused his power to a level not seen in a long time if ever.
So lets define who we are and what we value. This election is a test for our system and people. We shall see who we are.

I wouldn't knock Community College. A lot of students need to go to "13th Grade" in order to shore up the skills they should have learned in High School. And it is inexpensive. You get a lot of bang for the buck.
We do need to tackle the problem of how higher education is financed. A "free college" bill might do just that. The devil is always in the details. But we know for sure that the status quo should not continue.
So if you are against Warren and Sanders in regard to "free college" then you still have to answer the question of how you would solve the student debt crisis. Even if you don't like their solution, at least Warren and Sanders are being honest about the problem. The other candidates are not. The other candidates lie by omission.
How dare people want fair living wages for those at the bottom of the economic pyramid, decent health care for everybody, and a way for people to go to college without mortgaging their futures.

loneliness, caused by TV, the internet and social media, is the #1 core cause of unhappiness in this country. For white people anyway.
For black people, they have bigger problems.

as a related aside, I read a study of polls...the conventional wisdom is that pete has a problem with A-A Dems. Which is true. but the bigger truth is that *everyone but Biden* has serious problems with A-A Dems. In other words, they all have mid single digit support among A-A- dems. Except Biden, who is up around 50%.
Unless that changes, and it could, it's game over. Super Tuesday will lock it up for Joe.
