One question I have about Trump's obviously corrupt insider/trading, pump-and-dump grifting, is this: WHY?
The man is clearly not long for this planet and has more than he could ever spend. Is it that he cannot escape a belief that wealth is a scorecard for success? Does he think that dying with more money will secure a better place for him in the memory of those who live on? Is he doing it for his kids and their kids? (I don't believe this for a second, by the way... I don't think it is ever about anyone else). Is it all just to "trigger the libs"? Has he created a reality in his demented head that it is somehow justified for "wrongs he has suffered"?
If you have more than you could ever spend, why secure your place as America's most corrupt President (BY FAR), to have more? At nearly 80 years old.
Most billionaires (all?) have abandoned all other purposes for living:

We now have one that's pushing real hard to become a trillionaire, while at the same time telling regular folks to not save for retirement.

pelosi should not have been allowed to make all those trades and she should not have done them even if allowed. No one is defending her. But you constantly defend Trump.

most authoritarians like piggie believe that they are tough but 100% needed medicine. They think that without them in charge, their nation will collapse. This is why trump says 'only I can save america' and 'you are losing your country without me.' And it's their reason for cheating to stay in power - they think 'he who saves their nation commits no crime.'
So there is an element of patriotism to these would-be tyrants. They do honestly believe they are doing their nations a service by ruling them with an iron fist.
And to put thmselves in the line of fire like this, they think they *should* be paid with respect, a life outside law and morality, lots of women, and money.

Trump has always believed rules, procedures, laws and norms are optional. And when he learned there would be damaging consequences for something he successfully Roy Cohen’ed his way out of trouble.
As a country, I don’t think any of us believed this would scale for him as President. But it did.
Now that Trump knows nobody can check his power, why wouldn’t he keep taking “free” money that is there for the taking?

When I heard the POTUS got his self appointed justice department to give his whole a family immunity from being investigated broadly for anything, and at the same time settling a 1.8 bil dollar lawsuit with ....himself...I figured that was it for you trumpers?
