This seems to come up a lot, Rob wanting to do his fantastic feats all on his lonesome, FMD quite often he even gets to the finish before the officials.

Check out the guy who finished in 5th place in that race. I'm assuming the distances were 1500m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run.
His times are:

He averaged 80 km/h for the bike portion of the race. The winner, by contrast, completed the bike portion in 59 minutes and change, or just over 40 km/h.

Listened to Marathon Talk Ep. 249 to hear what Rob had to say back in 2014 (half way into his marathon streak). Completely telling. Interviewer has a hard time believing what Rob is doing. Should have trusted his instinct. Crazy how a guy who didn't like running running achieved so much. Rob touts his high pain threshold and drive as the simple explanation behind his stringing marathon after marathon. As for staying injury-free, that is simple too -- it is all about having fun. Oh, and he wants to help strengthen the rules around record for most marathons in a year.

I agree with that statement. But just because its archived on some website doesn't mean that's really how it ended up, I would hope they fixed that. Definitely looks like 1 lap of a 2 lap course or something.

Ehh, only had to do 4+ hour thons by the look of it, could be legit.
Far cry from what he just did though, basically tripling the distance and speeding up by 1-2 min/mi.

15 minutes slower on the swim
30 minutes faster on the bike
15 minutes slower on the run
It doesn't make sense.
If it was 30 faster on the bike and 30 slower on the run, then I could see that there was a problem with a lap split missing.

As I listen to it, I can definitely see that he comes across as a genuine and nice guy. He is an interesting character. I wonder how much he is cheater and how much he is genuinely delusional.

On his website, RY claims 96 marathon victories. 91 of them came in Race across USA.
CA - won 8 of 11 stages
AZ - 13 of 16
NM - 12 of 15
TX - 19 of 23
LA - 1 of 2
AR - 6 of 7
MS - 5 of 7
AL - 6 of 8
GA - 5 of 8
SC - 5 of 5
NC - 6 of 10
VA - 6 of 9

Most of those (all from Texas on) are against 4 other men and 2 women. 7 total in the "race." It would be interesting to know where his other 5 marathon victories were won. That would be the question to ask him on facebook.
If the Virginia stage on May 26 was the final stage ending at the White House, he actually "tied" for the win in 4:18 with Bryce Carlson, a professor at Purdue. Bryce won a few of the other stages that RY didn't. RY's winning times aren't impressive, mostly in 4:xx, which is what you might expect running 26 miles a day for 6/7 days a week.
It sounds like he participated in this thing because it would entail 121 "marathons" towards his goal of one a day for a year, and he allegedly ran 26.2 miles on his own on the off day each week. Each stage was about 26.3 to 26.7 miles long, except for the last in each state which could be longer or much shorter (CA 27.28; AZ 7.86; NM last 4 were 18.95, 19.25, 30.2, 30.1; TX 4.75; AR 4.66; MS 31.31; AL 23.77; GA 7.71; SC 17). So five of his 91 "marathon" victories were on very short courses--four less than 10 miles (AZ, TX, AR, GA) and SC was 17. So if you count RAUSA stages as separate victories, he had 86 "marathon" victories and 5 shorter wins.
There is no data or splits for any of the results, other than finishing time rounded off to the minute.

I mean technically there was another stage after that I think, but June 2 was the White House day.
Haven't listened to the radio interview yet. But when I watched his facebook video describing the way he was recording data, he came across very genuine and honest as he explained the watches and the tracker and video and stuff. I had to keep repeating to myself, "This guy is lying through his teeth." He's a really good liar.
We've seen enough of the data to know his paces and distances are grossly exaggerated and distorted by riding in the RV.

Of the race results I can find, I don't see anything too peculiar, but stuff that looks pretty legit is unspectacular 4ish hour runs. This missing mats at the Chester during a 3:12ish is odd, given that his 20-21.1 split is just a hair under 8 paced. And, yes, I know there were others that missed mats at that event, but most of them are DNFs.
From what I see, I think the guy can run with some level of frequency. Can't tell if he can run fast or not and can't tell if he can do it daily. Didn't come across any wins.

I think having fun about it is the main thing. As you see, I do some crazy fairy dancing around the course.
