Here is the difference. Trump constantly makes fun of people's appearance so I have no problem with people giving him a taste of his own medicine. He has ridiculed others so he deserves a little ridicule coming his way.

They are already building the foundation for their defense in the Senate. Ultimately they will fall back on the fact that not enough republican voters want him impeached. That is no substantive defense but it will work as a justification for a party line vote.

I think the big risk for trump is if an insider like Bolton flips on him. Instead of staying quiet in such a situation he would push his luck and force the hands of the Senate and voters a bit much. It is very unlikely at this point that any of them testify though.

Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a mental condition in which a person has been driven effectively insane due to their love of Donald Trump, to the point they will abandon all logic and reason.
