Now, ‘resistance’ is the language used to describe insurgency against rule imposed by an occupying military power. It obviously connotes that the government is not legitimate. This is a very dangerous — indeed incendiary — notion to import into the politics of a democratic republic. What it means is that, instead of viewing themselves as the “loyal opposition,” as opposing parties have done in the past, they essentially see themselves as engaged in a war to cripple, by any means necessary, a duly elected government.”

Yeah, so? (Understanding that Barr is going WAY too far with his assessment of what those groups mean..."cripple by any means necessary"? Hardly. EVERY President has anti groups that form after they were elected. This is sour grapes mostly, but it happened with Obama too.
Did the formation of "resistance" groups make Trump break the law with Ukraine? Did those resistance groups make Trump lie to Mueller? Did those resistance groups make Trump go in front of cameras and illegally solicit Ukraine and China to investigate the Bidens?
Yes, a lot of people were against Trump right from the beginning because we knew he was criminal (he had JUST paid a $25 million settlement for defrauding students of Trump University). We knew he was inappropriate with women.
Barr is potentially in hot water. I wouldn't be using any quotes of his to show moral high ground if I were you.
