This whole episode has made clear to me that the US only works if POTUS is a good person. He doesn't have to be competent or skilled...but he can't be a malevolent force. The setup just doesn't work when that happens.

What's happened is that we've had many generations of basically good people in the oval office. Nixon was the worst human being in the list, but in the end he realized that the country comes first. Trump doesn't even realize that. So those many years of decent presidents has lulled congress into handing off too much stuff. And now we are reaping the harvest.

Call me naive, but I really think a very positive outcome could come of this if Biden is elected and he decides to work with congress to hand power back to the legislative branch after decades of it handing power to the executive branch.

The dynamics might actually work....Biden would be recognized as one of the great, visionary presidents...and why wouldn't congress accept more power? Biden wouldn't start work in the oval office with a giant agenda he wants to accomplish - his gut will lead him to establish normalcy and calm and bring the Rs back into the fold.

Whereas warren and sanders would be a merdefest of change and fighting and shake shake shake, They need the power of the WH to get their agendas done. Biden doesn't.

Foreign policy is key here...it's crazy that so much power is invested in one man. It's not healthy or good. One man shouldnt' be able to F up so many facets of foregn policy. NATO, Paris accords, japan, SK, etc.
