1, Not much?
2, A little?
3, A lot?
What's the difference between not much and a little?
Not much? 1%
A little? 5%
A liitle more 10%
How about 20%, 30% 40% 50%?
In terms of speed endurance, how much can a young distance runner who has already maximised his aerobic capacity, expect to improve his 5k time?
The point is, though you're not getting it, a young person might have already maximised his VO2 max on 2 or 3 miles per week and not be able to break 20 minutes for 5k. If he later runs sub 15, where did that improvement come from?
You are deliberately missing the point and accusing me of being reductionist, when the point is that those oxygen delivery factors are easily and quickly gained, but the neural factors take years and countless thousands of miles to gain.
The improvement I showed in my hypothetical examples are realisitic. You need to educate yourself.
