How in the world did TN. only have 5 women finish ???
Even lowly South Carolina put 11 women in front of TN's 5th runner !
They did lose their distance coach (Rodney Stoker) who left to go take care of his parents. Layne came in late, and even so, he's no Stoker.
Give them another year to see what happens on the distance side.

These posts got old 15 years ago. It's true that only those in the running community care. That's us, though. See all these similar post pointing out that most people aren't interested, especially when they're written in the same big bad egotistical way, is beyond tiresome.

Stoker better? Lol. Layne Anderson will get some studs there. He had good runners to Iowa. Not to mention 13th in the country one year. He's going to improve the distance program for sure. Give it time and the XC will move up the ranks. Excellent recruiter.
They ran much better earlier in the season, but then their last two races (Alabama and SEC) sucked. They could have been mid-pack with those earlier results, so something has happened in the interim. Long, their one high school stud, ran ok but not spectacular.
Looks like Tennessee could have used 400h Harvey after all.

I think a lot of Beth's top girls are red shirting this year to perform well at Sec 's next year. They are hosting on a brand new track and she's betting her stock on a good performance there. Hope it works out for her.
Blaase is a 5th year senior. Not saving her.
