Bit of a side topic but an interesting one. I'll give my two cents.
My general opinion is that drugs can get you to where you want to go faster than otherwise. Of course its pretty easy to stuff it up too by the looks of things. I've probably got 100+ drug related stories running around in my head from my time competing internationally and a few maybe appropriate to tell.
But the way i figured it was this, and i think this fits with one of the things J.R. is saying.
I had a choice to make a one point - PEDs or no PEDs. Once this decision is made then you find yourself standing next to someone you know if taking something. Then the next decision needs to be made. Do you want to feel bitter or not forever more.
And what helped, was that so many people on something i was beating and that many i couldn't beat, that were on something, would have beaten me clean anyway.
So i guess that's how i feel about the whole shifty side of our sport. And it is controlled from the top of course. Never doubt that for a second.
