Despite all obstacles, he had an amazing comeback season. From being out of xc due to a broken leg to running 9:18. Sure, it’s not the same Burr who ran 4:15 and 9:03 but all the more impressive
It looks like Andrew Burr decided to end his season as he’s not running in league to prioritize staying healthy for college xc (I assume he ended his season because if you can’t run in league, you can’t qualify for sections- idk can anyone in the SJS chime in)
Based on his Strava it seems like he rolled his ankle during SMOC and he has not run in a few weeks.
CIF Southern section prelims slated to reach mid to high 90s this saturday
So they'll let boys compete in girls events AND make everyone compete in 90 degree heat and subject the athletes to heat stroke?
Yep. The weather, eh, happens every year that some meets end up buried in heat. It‘s the ridiculous trans stuff that could be easily stopped that is irritating.

Yeah seems like Cali is gonna be hot as hell this weekend. Thankfully it seems it'll cool down next week though and hopefully that will continue going into the state meet. Just a small heat wave is all

At least it's not raining. Last year was a nightmare.
Here's another hot take - I don't think Noonan repeats at all this year. He isn't as dominant so far as he was at this point last season, and from what I've heard he's been struggling with injury
I think repetition of a state title is sadly unrealistic. The 3200m final is going to be DEEP and I'm not sure if he'll be able to keep up with them this year.
Not sure who does what and doubles but thats my early thoughts. I refuse to bet against Noonan but I go pretre/stefanop as my next favorites in both events they are in great shape and have the tools to run fast at state.

I disagree, I think he has a good shot. The state 3200 will be very tactical this year, since Parra isn't around. Noonan has a good shot in any tactical race as long as no one makes a strong move from 1k or so out. I've noticed that he's never responded too well when that happens.
