The bigger trouble for trump IMO is that it was only approved after the whistle blower's report. Rs trying to move the goalpost from bribery to it was only bribery if it had worked... it's a lot of twisting. Rs defense today was so weak. I actually do think it would have been more effective if Dems had risked it and made the hearings public right away. I guess they needed the closed door hearings to get to the bottom of it considering a lot of classified info might have been involved, and also to formulate a strategy for the public hearings. It's quite clear Rs have not been able to put together any substantive defense over these few weeks they have had. If they were in court they'd be 100% crushed using this defense.

Unintended consequences of Nikki's comments "for trump" She just told the country that two of Trump's high powered appointments, tillerson and Kelly, we're so concerned about Trump's aberrant and disturbing behavior that they felt the need to stop him from doing anything stupid or dangerous. You know they've done about a trillion times worse than this right? Like, remember the time they led us to a war (that we're still fighting) on false knowingly false premises? Oh!
