Ok. I was wondering if that was your stance here. I would be ok with that ONLY if the whistle blower decided to do that. We should aggressively protect whistle blowers so that others in the future are not afraid to come forward.

The problem with revealing this person’s identity is that the GOP is starving so badly for any whataboutism that no matter how honest, honorable and objective this person turns out to be they will try with all their power to crucify them as a scapegoat. The base will eat it up.

Why? We have whistle blower protection laws that say a whistle blower is allowed to remain anonymous. Whistle blowers are allowed to remain anonymous. Anyone who outs a whistle blower should face legal consequences.
There are a few Rs under serious attack for openly defending whistleblower protection laws. One of them helped make some of those laws and he was recently cornered and had to say since he made the laws he had to believe in them. That’s the current state of the GOP.
