First of all, I am not liberal. If you had thoroughly read this discussion thread, you would already know that.
On numerous occasions, I have tried to encourage people from both sides to maintain a much more civil discourse. Typically, that doesn't work, but it's not for lack of effort.
The bottom line is that the antagonistic, passionately self-righteous posts are going to change anyone's mind. If that's what you do for fun, so be it. It would be nice to have a mature discussion with people who are genuinely knowledgeable from both sides, but it is rather obvious that you don't intend to contribute to something of that nature.
