That resistance has more to do with a grudge against LRC than anything else. They hate our "aggressive" approach to outing him and are extremely butt hurt that our conviction was spot on. They need to get over their hurt feelings, they are starting to look pathetic.

The Guardian article has been shared over 400 times through social media. Many comments are also substantial. Interesting to see that the hero worship on Facebook is not found in the comments of the Guardian article. Very little support for RY in those comments. Almost completely non-existent.

I also created a new tab and pasted the tracker data from 6/11 to the end. (excellent work saving that whoever it was)

It's not visible on the graph, but prior to Asher's post he was doing up to 20 consecutive miles at sub 7 pace.

After the geezers showed up, and he tried to put on a show, there were still no more than 1.5 consecutive miles ran at sub 7. Usually a only half mile here or there.

Similar histogram for Joe Fejes' world-class 6day effort last year. These are even roughly KM splits, not miles, and there is still not a single one below 7. Granted RY cannot be expected to have such a great pacing strategy as a noob, but the contrast here is striking.

The UK Facebook group is like North Korea. No mention of RY at all. Once the evidence started to appear that "one of their own" was dodgy they jumped on the defensive and hounded the girl that was questioning the legitimacy of RY's attempt.

They then closed all comments and any posts mentionin RY.

The funny thing is the "running gods" on that site all run their own running businesses (race directors or positive shoe reviewers for hire). ...RY is bad for business hence the denial and censorship.

Bit sad as it used to be a good place for info.....now just self promotional "look at my wacky race series" or "Buy this Skins top for $200 it will make run awesome like Roby"

As I read it, Elke came across as somewhat intense and with a personal grudge. She? was passionate but made personal attacks, which did not endear her to the group. Spamming every single post in favour of RY rather than putting a single or a few carefully chosen posts meant she turned into irritating noise.

These "running communities" aren't about performance, they're about participating and feeling good. Everything is orchestrated from those who earn money from putting up races, selling stuff, "coaching", writing books etc. And bigger apparel companies willingly sponsor it all. This is their main customer base.

It's not a big deal, really. These are gullible moms and non-runners who believe everything they're told, and they think they're all awesome. The money machine runs and everyone is happy. The problems only arise when someone actually starts to believe he's an awesome runner and tries to match himself against the big boys. Then the serious performance oriented running communities will come down hard on them.
