2. Are you sure trump would just disappear after 2024? Would you put it past him and party to more permanently keep him in control... do not underestimate this country's stupidity and gullibility.. for all we know one of the son's would run. Look at how far we've come, anything is possible.

What we are missing on the left is a hard hitter loud mouth and ultra dirty tactics. Dems playing way too nice with the public. Where is their disinformation campaign to rile up the base and get them really angry? Trump has fired up the left on his own, but voters might end up being very complacent.

I saw AB Stoddard on Brian Williams' 11th Hour last night. She mentioned this huge fundraising gap between RNC and DNC. If you are serious about beating the Rs (not just in the presidential race, but House and Senate as well), you need to take this seriously.

Trump will not disappear until he literally disappears into the ground which is likely not that far off into the future. He just doesn't appear all that healthy and his mind is clearly not the same as it was even 10 years ago. He's following his father's path even if he outlives his father's age.

I've considered very strongly that either Junior or Ivanka would run and I think Junior would have no shot. He's not his father even as he attempts to be. Much of Trump's popularity is built from his celebrity status which junior doesn't have and the POTUS has been a master at the streetsmart manner of speaking which appeals to his base which Junior also doesn't have. Junior is basically a big douche and I think even some of the POTUS's base believes that. I think Ivanka would have a better chance of winning TBH.

Once Bernie is out, do his voters disappear as they appeared to do in 2016 or does a 3rd party candidate show up and take some of them? I don't know if a loudmouth, dirty tactics candidate is needed. A younger Biden might be a shoe-in at this point but the party has managed to suppress younger candidates who probably could win fairly easily with much of the far left nonsensical issues they wish to promote. They've also done a spectacular job of allowing some of the junior members of the part get way too far into the media (AOC, etc) which has done them absolutely no favors at all.

When they told Nixon they would have to vote against him, it wasn’t because they were worried about the election; most R’s were finished either way.

I agree there is some intangible that Trump has that Junior doesn't, which allows him to get away with otherwise repulsive behavior. Junior would just come across as being a prick. Maybe it's not fair, but Ivanka seems like a Stepford Wife.

Yes the GOP is raising millions and this is part of the reason why, gifts to big business. Now you set your alarm clock, punch your card and pay your taxes like a good boy. Trump is after all really draining the swamp and looking out for the little guy like he promised you.

The deficit however has never been bigger.

Trump is putting his heart and soul into this, it literally means staying out of jail for him. He's very motivated... I don't see that energy on the left, not even close.

What I mean about the hard hitter loud mouth is if one of established Dems wins, Biden, Warren or Bernie. They will have to defend against a lot of trump attacks and would need to step up theirs. The base wants to see someone standing up to him. There is so much bad stuff to talk about, they have limitless ammo. Other than these guys Pete would have a great shot, when asked recently about him beating Trump he said when the time comes he would unleash. People said the country couldn't elect Obama because he is black and surely many are saying Pete is not electable because of his preference, but Pete had a point that both Bill and Obama were young when they ran. He would have to bring something special to the table to light a fire in the base though.

Btw that is an old article and its biased. Look at trump's 2018 deficit and his 2019 projected. He's outpacing Obama. Bush had the Afghanistan and Iraq war, Obama had the 2nd largest recession in history to deal with and a mini one later. They had legit reasons to increase the debt ceiling. Rs are supposed to be fiscal hawks and there is absolutely no good reason for trump to be outspending either of them with this kind of economy. It is totally irresponsible and amounts to borrowing from the next generations so he can boost his chances. You still want to argue?

The defense budget has increased greatly since Obama but STILL Trump has much lower deficits. How am I nuts?
